We dropped the kids off at a relative and booked a night away at No 1 Pery Square including dinner and a thermal hour. Whilst I dutifully did the full thermal thing I am not in a position to comment on its brilliance or otherwise suffice to say that I had a lovely relaxing snooze in one of the rooms. The service here was exceptionally good in my view; it was great to meet such pleasant, happy and helpful staff. Top marks to everyone we met from front of house staff to restaurant waiters to spa staff to the guy that brought tea to our room. Dinner was tasty and efficiently served. The restaurant was full, warm and nicely decorated creating a friendly and welcoming buzz. Breakfast was wonderful too with a range of specially prepared cooked options in addition to a tasty buffet. We upgraded the room from the basic and were spoiled as a result. It was lovely. It faced inwards so we had no traffic, although it was a quiet city on this Saturday night. A beautiful bathroom ensuite too. Overall, this was a great break from our normal busy existence. We could walk to the shops and wandered around the Georgian district on Sunday morning for a half hour taking it all in. Unfortunately the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night and everyone had to get up. Even with this unplanned entertainment! we had a wonderful 24 hours. I would highly recommend No 1 Pery Square. I hope to stay there again in the future.
