I've been to this establishment over the years but lately when dining there has been one person who has stood out as the epitome of Customer Service a gracious lady with Blonde hair Sharon, she is so clued in with the customers she anticipates their needs before they do. Brendan is lucky to have her in Matts. After today I will be a regular for food. #SharontheMam . Food also excellent

Had a wonderful meal in this pub. A couple of fellows playing traditional Irish music with the guitar and tin whistle. Great experience and great food

Had a night out with friends from work. Great service and we got a space upstairs to ourselves. Pints were flowing and we ordered a couple of various platters, seafood and the usual mix of cocktail sausages, wings n wedges. All very tasty and the place soon filled up to a good atmosphere. Only criticism is we thought there could've been more food on the platters, however it was a good start to our night out.

Delicious mushroom soup, roasted chicken. Friendly waitress and bartender, who helped me find the beer I liked best and learn to pronounce Smithwick's properly (the w is silent!). Good live music, great atmosphere.

This bar is just across the bridge from Kilkenny centre. Easily found on its corner site on John St Lower.
This historic pub was recommended and is certainly worth a visit.
Good pub food menu and friendly staff.
