We arrived in town after dark, having just flown into Dublin, rented a car and driven to Kilkenny. We wanted a cold beer and a nice meal and asked our B and B for a recommendation. I was surprised when they suggested the pub, only four doors down, as a great place to go. We were tired and not feeling adventurous so decided to follow their suggestion. I'm so glad we did. Not only is Matt the Miller's an adorable Irish pub, with live music (on a Wed. in October) but we had such a lovely meal here. My daughter ordered the Lamb Stew, which was a huge portion and very tasty. I wanted something lighter and healthy so I ordered the smoked salmon which was served on brown bread with a generous dinner sized salad underneath it. We both were stunned at the freshness and quality of our meals, particularly at pub prices. It's worth a visit just to enjoy the ambiance, great beer selection and live music, but if you have an appetite, you are in luck because it's a wonderful place to relax and eat dinner too.

My brother and I stopped to get a drink while the wives shopped. Its a great old pub, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. In the past I've eaten there a few times while visiting Kilkenny, and had a great time late at night with the live entertainment. Contrary to popular belief, there is a certain amount of drink that does make you and excellent singer!!

We headed to Matt The Millers for dinner one night while in Kilkenny. I had the best baby back ribs while in Ireland. The decor was nice and the music was the traditional Irish pub music. The service was good and the price was very competitive. Overall we had a very good night with fun traditional Irish music.

The Pub is just a very short walk from the city center. The pub itself is special becase it is separated in different floors and just has a great atmosphere. We had the Cod & Chips that were good with an amazing sauce and the Clonakilty Chicken which was simply amazing. After a while the live music started and made it a perfect stay. We would come back any time.

My husband and I stopped by Matt's for beer and apps. Love the atmosphere and the beer selection is fantastic. Haven't done dinner here yet, but it's on our to do list. Great music scene and list of interesting music performers. I would definitely recommend Matt's.
