We were two friends on a road trip in Ireland and we found this hotel on a webpage. It was easy to find and close to the main road. Even if it was close to the road, the traffic was not disturbing in any way. The hotel had free parking and plenty of spaces. This was important for us so we did not have to spend time looking for parking. The hotel is located a few minutes out of Killarney city - in a very nice countryside area.

We were warmly greeted and the staff was very helpful and service minded. We were very lucky and got a really spacious room with a lovely view of the area. The room it self was big and with a desk and additional chairs and a little table. The bed was big and comfortable. The room was nicely decorated in a classical and at the same time modern style. Our room had a in-house safe and bathrobe and slippers.

The bathroom was big and had very nice towels and amenities.

The breakfast was delicious and the staff very helpful. They provided excellent service and we enjoyed breakfast. The public areas were nice and stylish.

The webpage informed us that The Brehon is a five star establishment. To be honest I am not sure if i will really call it a five star. Maybe for us it was a very nice four star hotel. We were very happy with our stay at the Brehon and can recommend it!!!

I have just returned from spending 3 nights in this beautiful hotel. From start to finish it was a truly wonderful experience and a credit to all that is good in the Irish hospitality industry. The physical layout of the hotel is spacious and stylish. There is a very impressive foyer with high ceilings, open fires and lots of cream marble polished tiles. The bedrooms are large, comfortable and well laid out. There was bottled water awaiting us but this was not replenished during the duration of our stay, a minor quibble.
The spa is truly luxurious but could possibly benefit from a larger swimming area.
We ate in the restaurant on one night. There were 10 in our party and everyone raved about the food especialy the vegetarians in our group. I wish I had taken photographs of the way the various courses were presented. They were a work of art !! Thequalityand variety of food available was superb. But the real selling point of the whole experience were the staff, all of the staff, from the porters to the receptionists to the bar staff, housekeeping, they were top dollar!! Not pushy, genuinelyfriendly and caring. My travel colleague wanted a mug of coffee in te bar, one afternoon. The barman said there were'nt any in the bar but he would go and look. And back he came with a mug for her coffeee. All the staff were ready and willing to go that extra step to ensure our stay was memorable. I will definitely be back!!! Well done Brehon, take a bow!!!

There is probably more accomodation per square yard in Killarney than in any other town in Ireland.......and not all of it good. Over the years I've had my fingers burned a few times with poor service and inflated prices. In such a tourist hotspot as this it is a most welcome surprise to find somewhere like The Brehon, which delights in old world courtesy, comfort and style all at a very affordable price.
The one word that keeps cropping up in reviews is "spacious" and that is significant. In a world where more and more hotels seem to be designed by accountants with the emphasis on making the most of the smallest space, the Brehon is a real indulgence. The public areas downstairs are open and airy, with high ceilings and even open fires. The bedrooms are equally
comfortable, big beds, lots of space and nicely muted colours in the decor. The bathrooms are smart, modern and spotless. A special word for the staff who have a lovely relaxed way of going about their business efficiently .
I am definitely NOT a fan of the buffet breakfast but I have to admit this was one of the better examples and on my second morning I was delighted to be told that I could order fresh plaice from the kitchen instead of eggs and bacon from the buffet. It was perfect.
All in all a real find. I just would not think of staying anywhere else in Killarney. Full stop!

Had a very enjoyable break at the Brehon. Excellent food, very good location, lovely dining areas, friendly helpful staff, twin guestroom on the small side for our liking.

I stayed here with friends over the Easter break and we were all delighted with our stay. The veryone room was spacious the bed very comfortable. Dinner was varied and well presented, perhaps more variety with the vegetables would have been nice but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Breakfast was excellent! Though the hotel was full everyone was catered for and all was calm...a nice way to start the day.
We enquired re packed lunch as we were on a walking trip bet 15 euro a head seemed over the top so we declined.
A lovely hotel and great value...we will return.
