We arrived last Friday evening after a 3.5hr drive to be told that there was no food available in the bar and had to queue for a table in the restaurant. Having 3 elderly persons and 5 kids this was unacceptable. Finally ordered pizza and chicken bites from Reception and waited nearly 2 hours for them to be delivered and they were barely edible. Hotel said well "we have events this weekend" which is fine but them need to be able to cater for guests first and events afterwards. To cap it off it was €400 for two nights never again as we come every year but will find an alternative venue for our party of 21. Just not good enough.

Dear Guests

We are disappointed to hear your feedback on your recent stay last week and find this very surprising that you waited nearly 2 Hours for Lobby Food. It is not clear whether this was brought to the attention of Management at the time as this has not been logged or reported on the day and I can assure you it is not the norm for any guest to have to wait 2 hours for a food order and we would not accept this as part of our operational standards.

It was a particular busy Friday due to the Killarney Run Event that was taking place on Saturday however we are used to hosting many events and always strive to make all guests our priority.
The Bar serves food until 5.00pm and then from OD’s Restaurant we also had our main restaurant, The Flesk open from 6.00pm and the Mangerton Suite, another venue where the Kids Entertainment was on also serving a light bites menu. It was noted that the Restaurants were busy which is to be expected on any evening with full occupancy in the middle of high season however had this been brought to the attention of a member of the team I can assure you that this would have been addressed immediately.

We are sorry that you had such poor feedback on this occasion and can only sincerely apologise at this stage.

Kind Regards

My husband and I spent a much needed night away in the Gleneagle Hotel. We had a great night entertainment followed by a good rest in a most comfortable room. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast served by a very friendly lady, and all at a most affordable price. We will be returning again and again.

Good staff, decent location and ok complex facilities.

Rooms are very basic and dated as are the corridors and much of the hotel.

I find the standard room rate of 160 euro/night w/ no breakfast included a bit much. But I guess Killarney is popular at this time of year.

Would not stay again.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel, much more of a 3 star hotel. CONS: The pool was extremely chlorinated and very humid if you are sitting outside the water. The rooms are a hit and miss. We had 2 rooms, one being a little redone and the other very dated. There is no air conditioning in the room. A desk fan that is supposed to keep you cool. The comforter on the bed was very heavy and thick. PROS: I would say the best part of the hotel was the breakfast. I nice assortment and fresh. The rooms were clean.

There are so many hotels that looked much nicer than the Gleneagle as we drove into Killarney. We had dinner next door at the Brehon which looked very nice. The dinner was great there.

Attended the Gleneagle Hotel on Friday 19th for the High Kings.

We booked a balcony view, therefore looking out on the mountains. Our room was on the ground floor and even we still had a great view.

Our room was very modern and we although we were on the ground floor, our room was still very quiet.

Our check in was super quick too.

We saw the High Kings in the ballroom.

The only concern I had was the front row of seats / tables was exceptionally tight, if anything should happen it would be tough to get out.

Our breakfast was quick and simple and other than that, we had a great time and will return again for the High Kings.

Dear Guests.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay.

The team were delighted with the comments you made and the high score you awarded us.

On this occasion The High Kings were in the ballroom. They are such a popular act that we would normally host them in the INEC which is much bigger. The INEC was booked for Celtic Steps.

We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and we look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
