We stayed here for two nights in July with some friends. As many other reviewers have pointed out this is a stunning property, nice modern design and a generally pleasant staff. Our lower rating stems from two issues:
1- One night there was a large party (wedding?) with music and noise going on till quite late after midnight. It would die back and we thought it was over and then it would start up again. We had the room closed up, but to no avail. I know the hotel was full but why can't the wedding party be in the noise prone rooms?
2- Six of us had dinner in the dining room once. Three of our party ordered glasses of chardonnay (the same vintner). All found the wine undrinkable and sent it back for something else. We then waited a long time for our entrees to arrive; we asked a couple of times and the wait staff seemed overwhelmed, although I think they were trying their best. My wife and I had salmon and sea bass; it was satisfactory but I think the other problems put a damper on the evening.
We understand things happen and try not to be demanding, but I think when you are at capacity you need to make sure your resources can handle the work.

Returned here after a number of years. Still superb hotel, lovely rooms with stunning views, delicious food and excellent staff.
Are in the restaurant, extremely tasty and good selection of nice wines. Lots of little simple touches that made our stay all the better. Will definitely be back.

My parents and I stayed there from the 7th - 9th August 2019. Although our stay initially got off on the wrong foot, Brid (one of the Duty Managers) truly came through and made the rest of our visit as comfortable and personal as we heard that the Aghadoe team can deliver. Further, my mother became very ill during the visit and she was immediately cared for by the team with hot honey and lemon tea and driven to South Doc, all arranged by the night porter, Brandon, on duty that night (8th). Both Izabela and Carol in the Lake View Restaurant proved to be superior, professional and well trained. We were treated to two sensational treatments at the lush and decadent spa with team members Rushana and Tara, who were welcoming, personal and professional. To say the least, my mother and father were overcome with surprise and it truly turned around the stay for me and my family. I cannot stress enough how impressive the team is and in the face of a negative experience, take on board the information and surprise their guests with the lengths at which the team will go to take care of them. Stay here for the gorgeous views and on the ball staff who will make your visit so so worth it.

Room tip: lake views are worth the price

What an incredible hotel! My husband and I recently stayed here for 3 nights during a vacation to Ireland and were blown away by this place. Immediately we were impressed by the exterior and location. It’s incredibly modern and has spectacular views of Killarney National Park, Ross Castle, MacGillyCuddy’s Reeks & Lough Leane. The staff who checked us in were very welcoming and warm and took the time to get to know us as well as offer their recommendations for the area. We booked a Lakeside room and it was worth EVERY penny. The views were breathtaking! We ended up cancelling our plans for half a day just so we could stay and enjoy the property and read on our balcony while taking in the landscape. We had a chance to enjoy incredible dinners at both restaurants as well as breakfast each day and were again blown away by the service & staff. Everyone worked together to ensure that we were enjoying our experience to the fullest. We also appreciated seeing managers “on the floor” seating and checking in with guests. We were even treated to a rainbow over the park our first night at the The Heights Lounge & Piano Bar. The quality of the food for all of our meals really conveyed the experience of their chefs; everything truly exceeded our expectations. We’ll certainly be going back next year and will stay for a longer period this time.
