The Bricin was recommended by our driver from Killarney Chauffeur, but by the time we got settled in our hotel and decided that we *did* want to go there for dinner, we discovered that we were not going to be able to be seated before 9 pm. So, it's popular and it does not seat that many people -- but the host really did try to accommodate us as best he could (so, points for trying!).

The other reason to get a reservation is that they *do* run out of food! My wife managed to get the last bowl of one of their featured soups (and only because she lay claim to it while we were being seated; otherwise she knew it would be gone). She went on to order the lamb boxty from the menu, but by that point in the evening they had sold out of the lamb. Unfortunately, that was the only boxty she wanted, as one other had chicken and tarragon and she's not a big tarragon fan; a third was a vegetarian boxy but that didn't sound quite like what she wanted that night. She ended up having a meal that was quite tasty, but it wasn't the boxty she had been anticipating (me, I had the chicken and tarragon boxty, which was quite enjoyable and not at all overwhelmed by the tarragon).

We went for a dinner to this restaurant during our stay in Killarney and we can highly recommend it. The food is excellent and the staff is just incredible. The place is very cosy. The restaurant is located on the main street of Killarney. Try definitely their cheesecake and their pudding for a dessert, there are awesome! Booking is needed. We hope to come back one day!

My boyfriend and I felt lucky to snag an early reservation at this lovely, character-filled restaurant in the Killarney centre over the bank holiday weekend. Lovely, welcoming staff. Warm, beautiful setting. Delicious, local inspired dishes. Recommend the seafood chowder and chicken boxty! But everything we had was great. Look forward to a future return!

Just happened to pop in...Got there right at closing on a Tuesday/(closed Sundays and Mondays...but they seated us right away. Although busy, the staff were nice and did not act hurried...only to get our food. It was served at just the right temp and the food was excellent. \not bad prices for the quality of food/service/surroundings. Would eat there again

Maybe we got it on a bad day.. The staff here were very accommodating and helpful, but the food just didn't match the reviews we had read. I ordered the steak with mash and stir fried vegetables. The steak was delicious and cooked perfectly as I requested but the veg and potatoes were extremely salty. My father and sister both agreed. My mum however ordered the trio of fish and was unable to eat her sides as it was so delicious and the portion was so large.
