Hotel is in Salthill with beautiful view of the water. Right next to Circle of Life Commemorative Garden (do this, it’s lovely). 5 min walk to Salthill and 30 minute walk to Galway along nice waterside path. Service was amazing. In the bar area, Emma did a wonderful job at breakfast time and Jordan was outstanding for evening drinks. Bed was firm but the most comfortable of all the places we stayed in Galway. Note: GPS takes you to correct street but past the hotel. Just follow signs for reception. Overall very pleased we stayed here during our Ireland vacation.

Our first tour of Galway and the Salthill area. Beautiful hotel with top rated staff who quickly learned our name and went above and beyond in service. A short walk along the promenade to the Salthill village area and a short cab ride to Eyre Square tourist area. We'd like to return.

Popped in here on the 6th September for a coffee with my sister's. The hotel itself is really nicely decorated and the view from the bar is fabulous. But the young staff need training. On arriving there were at least 5 staff behind the bar. There were 4 of us and we ordered different coffee's and tea with different scones and pastries. It was around 2 o'clock in the afternoon and the selection was pretty dismal. Anyway we waited a good while as all the staff seemed to disappear with only one guy left. The order came to the table and the server placed a large tray on the table and proceeded to hand each coffee to one person to be passed along. In the meantime more staff came back and it took 3 of them to put the scones on plates. Eventually the scones/pastries came and were served to the wrong people even though when ordering great note was taken of who ordered what. Plus the scones were not fresh. In the meantime the rest of the staff were chatting away behind the counter.
I know these are probably college kids working part-time but God almighty they hadn't a clue. I worked in a west of Ireland hotel from the age of 15 during school holidays and I would have been sacked if I served people the way they did.
I know this wasn't a one off as I since have been speaking to my son who was in the hotel the previous week and they had a similar experience.

My wife and I called into The Prom for lunch. It is the bar of the Salthill Hotel Galway. I had the seafood chowder. It was a very poor vegetable soup with a very small few pieces of fish in it. There was just one mussel. A lot of the cubed vegetables were actually a bit raw. My wife had the Caesar Salad and it was very poor also. This is the bar of a four star hotel and you would expect better. It is hard to believe that the person that prepared this food went to a catering school.
The glass of coke was fine.
