Myself and my friends having arrived in galway decided to grab some food and we’re given review about here so we decided to go. Food was incredible and very quick , cannot fault the food. However, myself and my friends doesn’t almost ten minutes searching for a table and noticed a woman sitting alone on a table of 8 and asked a waitress if it would be possible that we also sit there/ ask the lady who was drinking a pint to move to all the other free tables that had less that four seats. The waitress was quite rude and and barked that it’s not her job to ask people to move, we finally found a table and ordered. As I said , good was impeccable, when finished we were going to order a few more drinks but instead another waitress threw the bill onto our table , I had presumed someone asked for it while I was in the bathroom, but that wasn’t the case. We did not ask for the bill and felt as if they wanted us to leave after throwing the bill at us. Really disappointed with the service, I expected a lot more having worked in a restaurant as well , especially a bar/restaurant that is quite popular in Galway.

I spend a lot of time in Galway and always find myself coming to An Púcan. A great bar with lots to offer. Great whiskey & cocktail selection. Brilliant live music and one of the best beer or "Gin" gardens in the west of Ireland. Staff are always friendly and food is very good also. Would reccomend to anyone staying In Galway looking for a good spot for a night out.

We called in here on a Saturday night & it was just manic, crowded & filled with hen parties. A band was playing 70s/80s music which wasn't what we were looking for really so we turned around & left.

Perhaps it's a better bet outside the weekend nights.

Went to this pub at the recommendation of a tour guide for its whiskey assortment and good Irish music. Walked in and it looks like a traditional Irish pub with live traditional music. Crowded so we kept walking back into the pub and fin as lily found seating in a courtyard. The courtyard and rear of the pub was like any 21st century club anywhere in Europe or USA. Contemporary music blaring (rap) and a young crowd. Great if that's what you're looking for. We self-ordered drinks and chili cheese nachos. The later was mediocre.

Looking for a place to watch the Woman's World cup soccer we went to Au Pucan. We watched the game from the big screen while enjoying a beverage. The pub was crowded and the drinks were self service. As soon as the game was over, the music began.
After the game we stayed for dinner and our server was friendly. The menu was traditional Irish pub fare...decent portions and reasonable prices.
The flowers outside the door are beautiful and draw you inside.
