After staying in the Galmont previously, we chose to return for our Honeymoon which turned out to be a diaster from start to finish.

On our arrival to the hotel at 3.45pm our room wasnt ready and when asked how long of a wait we would have due to later reservations we were shunned off with a response of "I can't say". Cut to an hour and a half later, we again had to ask the status of the room to be told it was just ready.

We arrive to our room late where the window was broken and the room had no safe as advertised.
As we were on honeymoon we had valuables that we needed to lock away and felt uncomfortable without a secure place to put them.

Eventually after numerous of phonecalls we were moved at my request, something I don't think you should have to really fight for.
We attended the spa which was ok, but at this stage we felt very deflated.
On check out when asked about our stay I raised the issues we had faced for it to fall flat and be given a half felt apology.

I also think when you are a resident in a hotel to be expected to pay €10 a day for parking is a bit much.
Given the cost of the significance of this trip, it's both time and money we will not get back. So very disappointed. Will not be returning to The Galmont and advising family and friends of the same.

We stayed 2 nights here, and this was a great location to visit the city. It is very close to the train station and walking distance to all we saw. Great impression upon entering the hotel and staff was polite. I had spent a little extra to get a Seaview room and did ask for a quiet room. There was a large venue in the hotel that evening and although we had a great view and nice room, we were put on a side of the hotel away from the venue and close to the road and it was very loud. We were not certain, and to be fair, it may have been a faulty seal or something else was possibly wrong with the window. We just heard a lot of road noise during the night. When we brought it up the next morning, we were immediately upgraded to a better room and location. That room was absolutely great and made up for the inconvenience. The front desk representative we worked with most of our stay was Sarah, and she was attentive and outstanding and apologetic. Both her and another staff member were also very helpful in providing information on where to go in the city and provided a map with details. The pool and jacuzzi was nice, but the pool too cold for us to enjoy. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel and did really enjoy that as well. I would definitely recommend this hotel for the location, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff provided outstanding service and truly made up for our inconveniences. Keep in mind there is a road that runs along at least some of the sea view rooms.

Stayed 3 nights over the Easter Ban Holiday. Was there to celebrate a 40th and when we arrived, there was a lovely gesture in the room of cake and macaroons. Very much appreciated. The swimming pool and facilities there were great and providing towels and shampoos is a great bonus. Had a great time.

Fabulous hotel. We got to check in early which was amazing. Our room was facing the river which was breathtaking. Everywhere was spotless and the bed was so comfortable.
The only thing I’ll say is it would be great to see a bigger size for ladies or men who are plus size. We didn’t get to use the spa facilities but I can’t wait to go back.
Breakfast was fantastic, fresh items & the staff was so friendly. The receptionist who checked us in was so friendly and bubbly. It was my first time staying there and I’ll definitely be back again.
Central location to the city centre which was great for the Galway Christmas markets.

Room tip: Book a superior room
