The staff was so hospitable and kind- they allowed an extremely early check-in after our long flight from Boston. The hotel itself was lovely, breakfast bountiful and nicely served. The location is in the city center, a very short walk from Eyre Square- close to everything! We loved the heated outdoor porch - great for coffee, and for waiting for cabs.

We visited Queen street bar for food as a party of 8, the place is modern spacious and vibrant. At 3pm on a Saturday it’s busy but foot staff are efficient.

We sat close to the food hatch and I think this was a mistake. We had a clear view of the kitchen in operation. I’m no expert in how kitchens run but I wasn’t comfortable with the handling of food, at one point a chief carried a cooked burger in his hand. And at another point picked up a handful of chips and put them into the chip basket. No gloves or serving equipment. Maybe this is normal but it’s visually not nice.

To be fair there was a quiet time or menu change around 4:30 and the kitchen was cleaned.

The food was very good here and the drinks were good too. Staff are efficient and pleasant also.

We stayed here for 4 nights while visiting. When we walked in, the hotel was clean and the service was good. Housekeeping also took good care of our room. I love how close the hotel is to everything and yet, being at the end of a street by a church meant it was quiet for us at night when sleeping. This hotel has breakfast included which entails continental options as well as ordering off the menu. We were delighted to find a hot vegan meal on the menu and had that each day along with some fruit from the continental breakfast.

Nice hotel very good location for all amenities including rail station, pleasant reception staff the food and service in the restaurant was first class room was a nice size with a small fridge which was handy, we did have a room facing the road and entrance which as most people know makes it noisy especially from inconsiderate returning guests over night
