Description: The Oslo Bar in Salthill boasts the first and only Microbrewery in Galway which offers a great range of international beers, fresh food and a variety of novel evenings. With an ever changing menu the Oslo keeps people coming back to enjoy the many creative dishes inspiried by "in-season and fresh" ingredents. There is a wide range of international beers but while there you should try our own Bay Ale and Stormy Porter - brewed right on the premises. The front portion contains a comfortable range of eclectic furniture and the back part, set up with German beer garden style sturdy tables. The name Oslo itself comes from the Oslo Hotel which once encompassed the whole premises.Focused on food with a daily menu served from 12 until 10 daily. Select from a good range of interesting dishes. Enjoy the Weekend with brunch including Eggs Benedict and French toast which has fast become something of a Galway institution. An open fire and large comfortable smoking area tick a few more boxes making the Oslo a really great destination.

Met up with some friends here while on holiday. It was perfect. Great atmosphere for a casual dinner with friends. I loved their Full Sail IPA. (And the samples of the various local brews my friends had- including a delightful cider). My fish and chips were the best I've had...ever. I would recommend it because the fish was thick and not too fishy, the batter was tasty and not too think, and the chips were very potatoey (not just fried and soggy). Tarter sauce and mushy peas were fabulous also.

Family of 4 visited here early in August. The food was really nice - pay for what you get. Seems to be very kid friendly- can be seen as locals were there eating with their young kids. Worth a visit if spending time in Salthill.

Went here on a July afternoon , expecting a gastropub experience ...had a fish and chip meal ..very disappointing ..the fish was no better than the type of mass produced frozen stuff you can buy in the supermarket and the chips were especially awful ..they looked anything but fresh and tasted terrible as though they they were really old and fit for the bin. And what is the deal with 'pea puree' rubbish served in such places these days instead of proper garden peas. It's obviously just a lazy , easier thing for them ..but as a diner you are just left feeling like you have eaten unhealthy rubbish. Definitely wouldn't eat here again.

The Olson bar is an outlet for the Galway Bay brewery, so there's always a great selection of their beers on as well as a diverse range of bottled beers from other breweries. On my most recent visit I enjoyed a beer bat (three different third measures served on a paddle) that had Acid Mother on it - a lime gose that was summery and intense. For food I had spicey chicken wings with chips and blue cheese dip. I was very pleased with the service as I was served the wings even though they were only on the evening menu and I was there at lunch time

This was a last ditch effort to find a menu with GF options. Granted it was race week so there were crowds everywhere but the service was a bit lacking. Our table was big enough for 8 but there was only flatware enough for 4 and no salt or pepper.
Food was good and plentiful but rather pricy for the location and atmosphere.
