This West End eatery offered fabulously flavored fish in a friendly easy environment.
The lemon sole with seaweed and grapes from the chef's mom's garden was the best sole dish I have ever experienced. What a treat. They sell an excellent cookbook as well. The young woman who served us was as compelling as the food. Turns out she's from the same town as our Irish ancestors!

As a former chef of a seafood restaurant I feel qualified to pass judgement. Oscar's brings a quiet, thoughtful presentation to the freshest of seafood. The use of edible garnish locally sourced and an artistic arrangement gives the diner pause-until the brilliance of the dish is tasted. The skate wings were perfectly cooked. The monkfish finished cooking "on plate"-as it should. Bravo.

I visited in May and had a fabulous dinner, the restaurant was busy and had a good buzz to it, the food was excellent and reasonably priced, great Oysters, wonderful menu, good night out!

I enjoyed the food, good helpings too. Proficient - but not brilliant. I noticed that there were meat and vegetarian choices too despite the name -handy if your group includes a non -pescy person

We had dinner here one of the nights we stayed in galway. We had not booked but staff were welcoming and helpful. Great menu options and choices. Freshly cooked food and the seafood was delicious. Galyway bay oysters are worth trying and the baked haddock. Recommend this place.
