My wife and I enjoyed a delightful (& belated!) celebration weekend for our 10 year wedding anniversary, by staying at the funky boutique-style Forster Court Hotel,
We had a delightful weekend there: a BIG shout out to the really kind staff: Chloe (on reception who checked us in), Elaine (the Duty Manager) and Adrian (receptionist and also in the Bar/restaurant). They were all really friendly yet professional and courteous at the same time.
The hotel made our stay extra special by providing a bottle of prosecco and a congratulations greeting card (which was a lovely gesture). We booked one of the Superior Balcony Rooms on the second floor. The bedroom was a decent size and filled by a huge Super King Bed which was extremely comfortable, However their were a few paint scuffs on the walls, and the bathroom was in need of modernisation/redecoration as the grouting around the tiles was in need of redoing, the bathroom door was very squeaky on opening and closing, and the extractor fan was very intermittent when switching on. However their was a full size bathtub and plenty of hot water. The room had a balcony/courtyard area with garden furniture. The view was over city rooftops, and in one part of the roof area some building work was taken place which didn't add to the outdoor ambience sadly.
The ground floor function rooms of this hotel are obviously where all the money has been...My wife and I enjoyed a delightful (& belated!) celebration weekend for our 10 year wedding anniversary, by staying at the funky boutique-style Forster Court Hotel,

The ground floor function rooms of this hotel are obviously where all the money has been spent. The reception/bar/restaurant was absolutely amazing, with a delicious cocktail/gin menu which my wife and I really enjoyed tasting. The breakfasts were high quality, although due to the ongoing COVID restrictions I miss the freedom and the choice of a breakfast buffet...hopefully they will come back?!
All-in-all a wonderful stay. I would have given them 'five green blobs' in my review if the bedrooms matched the ground floor renovations. Perhaps bedroom renovations are planned?
Highly recommended hotel though!More
