I was a member of a party of 6 that had dinner at Sixty6 on a recent Sat night. The table was booked for 8:30. We arrived for 8:30 but had to wait standing beside tables for 20 minutes before we were seated. It was 10:00 when the main courses were served and 11.00 before we could leave, having waited 10 minutes beside the till to pay the bill.

The first item served was bread, which was good, but was just dropped in the basket on the table to be eaten off the table or our napkins - there were no side plates on the table service, though they were produced when we eventually got a waiters attention. I had cod for main course which, possible because it was sitting in the bowl for ages, was just a piece of stewed fish with some watery stuff on the bottom of the bowl to pass as a sauce.

The poorest aspect of this restaurant’s offering is the wine list. Wines are so overpriced that we resorted to just buying the cheapest wines - €28 for a very standard white - such as the supermarket would buy for €7 or €8 - and €29 for the red.

Then, after a night of very slow service, mediocre, and not cheap, food, a 12.5% service charge is added to the bill and it is up to the punter to challenge this charge (which I did). Won’t be back.

Came here with a friend and both had the Irish breakfast - food was delicious, portion size was great and super filling! The staff were friendly and food and drinks came quickly. Also, the vibe in the restaurant was great as they had a couple of musicians playing live.

Had not been here in many years and was very pleasantly surprised. It was a quiet Sunday evening but there was a nice atmosphere. Waiting staff were very attentive. The food was really delicious. We had crab salad/chicken liver pate followed by steak/hake and two panna cottas for dessert. The steak was a little overdone for the medium rare that was requested but other than that there were no complaints. We followed up with an Irish coffee and a gin oriental cocktail each. Cocktails are half price on a Sunday and were very good.
The thetaste.ie voucher was very good value too and I will keep an eye out for others for this restaurant.
