The listing promised a quiet apartment in the midst of the action in Temple Bar. We could hardly believe how quiet it was -- just as promised. Kate, who rented the space to us was so accommodating and the apartment had treats, toiletries galore and lots of maps and info, which was very much appreciated. We were very pleased with our decision. I saw an earlier review that mentioned a rip in the sofa -- no evidence of that when we stayed there.
I have limited mobility due to a respiratory condition and this apartment was an ideal location. The airport bus stops at the end of the street and you can also get the green Hop on Hop off bus from here if you purchase your ticket in advance from the airport. There’s also the added bonus of a lift. Taxis can be easily hailed if you leave by the back entrance. A very short walk to a fantastic little bar with live music as well. A great time had by all. The sofa bed is an ample size and very comfortable. Yes there’s a little wear and tear in the flat, it’s obviously well used. It’s clean, tidy and the host was lovely to deal with.
Location is fantastic for exploring Dublin. Apartment is clean and has absolutely everything you could wish for. Katie was great to liaise with and even brought my wife a little birthday cake due to it being here birthday.
Will definitely be staying here again the next time we visit Dublin.
My nephew and I stayed at this apartment for 4 nights in August. The apartment is in an excellent location on the edge of Temple Bar. We could walk to most attractions and two minutes walk to the top of the street is the bus stop for the airport. The bedrooms are at the back of the apartment and so even though the excellent cafe/tea shop two floors below opens up early, we were never woken by street noise and slept very well all 4 nights.
The wifi is fast, there are lots of channels on the TV and there was abundant hot water and heating if we needed it. The kitchen and bathroom are very well equipped and Kate the friendly owner had milk, chocolates, butter etc all ready for us in the fridge.
Some reviewers have commented on the bedroom size and the possible need for some decorating. First of all we found the main bedroom more than ample and although the second bedroom is quite tight around the double bed, we had not gone to Dublin to sit in our rooms and we had ample space in the apartment for us to spread out our luggage and subsequent purchases. I would agree that the apartment could do with a bit of a decoration at the end of the year, especially the bottom of the bedroom doors. But these scuff marks on walls and doors (probably from luggage) I have seen in expensive hotels and I would imagine that as soon as one redecorated then more marks would be made from the next set of guests.
Overall the apartment was very clean, convenient and comfortable. Kate is an excellent communicator and a friendly and helpful host. I would have no hesitation in staying again and indeed hope to do so!
First of all, what a nice lady Kate is. She was wonderful to communicate with, and was very quick to answer any questions. When we arrived in Dublin, she met us immediately, and was so nice I felt like I’ve known her for a long time-it was a great start to our stay. As far as the apartment, it was in a perfect location and close to all the bars and restaurants in Temple bar, and definitely within all of the best shopping on Grafton St. The apartment suited our family of 5 adults and one child. There were plenty of extras in case you were missing something (shampoo, shower gel, coffee, tea etc.) I was worried about the noise from Temple Bar, but we didn’t have any issues, and only heard the occasional loud partier, but in the 4 nights we stayed it was pretty quiet and we felt safe. I would definitely recommend staying here. Thank you Kate!
