Description: Montys of Kathmandu, a multi-award winning Nepalese Restaurant in the heart of Dublin's Cultural quarter and now more recently, in the leafy suburbs of Rathgar. Montys is the first Nepalese Restaurant ever to open in Ireland specialising in the beautiful food from the Himalayan Kingdom. We make everything inhouse and do nor use any artificial additives to enhance the flavours of our food. All our chefs are natives of Nepal and it is owned by Nepalis too. We pride ourselves on giving you the customers the authentic experience, with out taking any short cuts. We source all our ingredients, where possibly locally and use the best possible available to us.

This is a close race with Jaipur on Georges st.
Although it says Nepalese, its just like indian but with a few nice unusual dishes.
You really have to try the jumbo tandori prawns.
The squid is also great.
Atmosphere better than the competition

The only let down was the lamb was not the most tender

Really Nepalese food, but hard for an American to tell the difference. Good food and service. We ate here because of the trip advisor reviews ands they were correct.

Authentic Indian and Napalese menu - makes my mouth water just thinking about it. Prices very reasonable (although wines a little over-priced - but it is Dublin's Temple Bar area). Wine list good, however. Service excellent, even when handling a party of 11 people. Ambiance pleasant. Service charge is included on the bill. Will be back.
