A lovely property located very near the sea. The house was very clean and well set out with a huge kitchen diner, living room with large tv and a lovely sitting area at the rear overlooking the patio area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Although one of the bedrooms is a bit small to have a double bed in it, the other rooms are very spacious. Everything you could need was here including plenty of towels, flannels, toilet rolls, coffee & tea, even some alcoholic drinks in the cupboard and milk, cheese & bread supplied on arrival. The second shower room/toilet is situated outside the property accessed across the patio. It is a wet room type adjacent to the utility room. There are fantastic views of the harbour & islands, although only seen from the patio, front road and rear bedroom.
Altogether a memorable stay in a fantastic country.
We really enjoyed our time in Howth.
The house itself has everything one needs. Especially the first floor has lots of room to relax and dine. The house has a very nice patio, and we actually enjoyed many sunny days (apparently pretty uncommon). One of the bedrooms on the second floor is a little small. We didn't expect the second bathroom to be in an annex that you can only access by crossing the outside patio. The house was very clean and has modern equipment. From the patio you have a beautiful view at the sea.
The house is located perfectly: a ten min walk to the village and a short train ride to Dublin. Howth itself has a small grocery store and we were pleasantly surprised by the number of restaurants and cafes. From the house you can access a number of hikes; leading you to the typical Irish rocky coast and great views.
Wow. What a wonderful property this is. It is clean, well laid out. In a great location near to the sea (about 10 min walk) and to Dublin (about 15 min drive by car). It's got fantastic views of the bay & islands (best viewed from the garden, rear bedroom or front of property). There is off road parking. The property is on a hill, so the walk into Howth is a steep one.
When we arrived, there was already essentials here, such as milk, tea, coffee etc, but also drinks such as whiskey, gin etc. There are plenty of bedding, towels, toilet rolls etc.
The coffee machine takes a bit of getting used too but makes fantastic lattes!!
Washing machine, tumble dryer, and second shower room/toilet is situated outside in a separate building accessed through the garden. Upstairs, has 3 bedrooms (all double beds) and another shower/toilet room.
There is freesat satellite TV (from UK) and freeview TV (Irish) available
Lovely home from home for family holiday, plenty space, comfortable bedrooms, great kitchen/ living area with lots of little extras that Pauline & Ivan provide. Beautiful garden with stunning views down to Harbour.
Steep hill from village not a problem for us but less able may find it tricky, (viewing benches at side). Would not hesitate to stay again Pauline and Ivan easy to get in touch with if need be, which we didn't as everything was great for our stay.
Well positioned with views over Howth bay, close to the Dart train station and walks around the harbour and cliff walks. This is a modern extended house in a quite area with plenty of room and facilities with the utility room and second toilet, shower room across the patio. We couldn’t ask for any more to make our stay more comfortable., except for having the trams running again as they would have passed just up from the house!
It was very convenient and cheap to get into Dublin via the Dart train and the main motorways are not too far for longer journeys. There’s even a large Tesco Extra only 15 mins drive away together with lots of local stores just down the road.
