Description: Peploe's is chic, sophisticated and probably the bubbliest restaurant in Dublin. Refurbished in August 2017 to a beautiful finish reminiscent of an old world Paris brasserie but with the quirks of a modern New York Bistro. A visit to Dublin is not complete without a visit to Peploe's St Stephens Green. Vegan/Vegetarian menu also available.

This restaurant has a relaxed traditional feel, providing an environment which is comfortable for social or business outings. The food is fresh, imaginatively presented, and tasty. The wine list caters for the discerning palate. We found the service staff to be smartly attired, knowledgeable, and friendly. However, it was somewhat slow at times.

Dear Borrum
Thank you for your kind review of Peploe’s. Whilst this is not meant to be an excuse, it is really difficult to get the pace of service right with every diner. We have a standard protocol of service but sometimes here on Trip Advisor we get references to service being too slow, sometimes too quick. We do our best to read the needs of each individual diner but sometimes we get it wrong. We apologise if in your case it seemed service was too slow but your feedback is most definitely noted.

When a very capable chef works with 1st class ingredients in an establishment where the finest of wines are available- you get Peploe's... Excellent menu.... Proper food craft! Expensive - yes. Worth it - yes. "Ipsum bonum" = VERY good. Eat here at least once in your life - "because you are worth it".

The best food I have had in Dublin! Myself and my boyfriend went here for a romantic night out and were delighted with the result. The portion sizes were very good and we left feeling full and satisfied! The waiters were very helpful when we asked them for recommendations and their recommendations were spot on. I had the fish pie and it is something I will never forget. Huge portion but tasted amazing so managed to finish every last bit. Thank you for a wonderful night!

We were welcomed warmly by the host and shown to our table, the waiter was trying to be super efficient which was a bit off putting! The menu was good value and had a nice variety of choices. In the top corner of the menu in tiny writing was a a statement that bread was available on request!!!!! Well we requested it and were brought three different breads, tiny slices of each no bigger than a match box, there were 2 slices of each bread and 3 of us, were we supposed to fight over who had what!! 2 of us had the burrata, mozzarella cheese to the uninitiated which we weren't, with heirloom tomatoes, Parma ham and aubergine slice. The combination was good but it was so cold you couldn't really taste anything. Also the Parma ham was a slither of fat and we couldn't really identify the aubergine. Our other guest had soup which didn't come with bread and by then we'd scoffed the bits we'd been given,he wasn't offered any more! For mains we had cod with new potatoes, sea bream with mash and steak with chips. Well the chips, all six of them were nice!!! The cod was tasty, the sea bream was very nice. But the service bit let it down again, the sea bream was on the bone and there was nowhere for me to put the bones, it was quite large but when I asked for a plate I was given a saucer!!! Needless to say the bones ended up on the table! So nice food in a nice atmosphere, but Peploes stop trying to be something that you're not, you're not a top class restaurant so get your staff to be a bit less snotty and a bit more customer friendly.

Dear Eileen M
A harsh review indeed
Regarding bread, your waiter/waitress would happily have brought you more bread, all you had to do was ask. We introduced bread on request to address food wastage issues.
We are a busy restaurant and whilst we do our best to keep any eye on all of our individual diners, we do need people to let us know if they need something addressed.
Your review of food is most unfair, we categorically do not serve slithers of fat as parma ham, again if you wanted more chips, we would happily have brought them to your table.
It would appear you were very unhappy overall, don’t have a record of complaints on the night, but perhaps next time you might address any issues you have in person as it is really the only chance we have to put something right.

I recently organized dinner in Peploe's, it was a special reunion for 25 people. The management were helpful and professional is taking the booking and making arrangements for the evening. The set menu was substantial and gave a lot of choice. On the night the staff were again helpful, courteous and efficient. The food was excellent, good quality and served on time. It was a highly successful evening, I will be back.
