Visited Sunday can’t believe how awful these toilets are. (Shabby and not in a shabby chic type of way, the smell of damp overpowered the other awful smeIls.) I was with some friends from abroad and was so embarrassed that this very popular and busy bar would have such dreadful facilities.
Just off the upscale pedestrian shopping Grafton Street, this is a tremendous spot to pop into at any hour of the day or night. Professional bar staff who will not leave you waiting or avoid eye contact regardless of the crowd, some great snugs, or stand outside regardless of the weather. Lovely mixed crowd of local office workers, students, tourists.
I hesitate to say too much about this place. Too good to share almost. Best pint, period and if you are lucky to snag the snug then you have hit the jackpot. Friendly staff just adds to the afternoon. We just had a few drinks, but hey that’s why we go to Dublin.
A proper pub !
There’s no doubt about it but when you go back home to Ireland, there is an expectation that everyone should know you (they don’t!) and that you should know where to find the perfect pint. Thankfully, Kehoe’s is always 100% for an exceptionally smooth pint of Guinness. Couple that with the friendly staff and clientele and you’re in for a lovely time. Kehoe’s is loved by everyone but you mostly hear dulcet Irish accents; the decor hasn’t changed in 20 years; the bar staff are fantastic....and that’s why it transcends the passing of time. Looking forward to my next visit!
