On our recnt visit ot Dublin we ate here twice. A very reasonable choice of food on the lunch menu, washed down with a lovely Murphy's - all with a friendly service. The same friendly approach was evident in the evening and it was difficult to choose - so many lovely traditional Irish dishes. Great ffod; a wonderful ambience and prices that are very reasonable. You'll probably need to book for the evening

If you are a tourist, and therefore must spend one evening in Temple Bar, this is a safe bet for a nice dinner. We arrived just before 6 on a weeknight, and that was just in time for the 3 course price fixe 16 euros. 1st course: soup, 2nd: a chicken-crepe dish (the sauce was like a hearty baked potato soup w/bacon) pictured, others ordered the stew, and 3rd: delicious desserts!

Had eaten here before and had a great experience so when friends suggested that we eat in the Elephant and Castle I steered them away and suggested Gallaghers Boxty House. We were a little hung over after a night on the town after Dirty Dancing so were looking for a little TLC. Although there were very few customers there we had to wait a long time for everything that we ordered. Two of the party ordered burgers and when they asked for mayonaise they were given two different flavours of mayonaise - garlic and something else. They were not looking for garlic mayo so asked if they could have some regular and were advised that this was not possible?? We then asked a different waiter who managed to bring it no problem.
Overall the food was ok. The service however was extremely slow and not very inviting.
