You hardly can hear your own word in this place. Low ceiling, desk to desk - and absolutely no arrangements to reduce noise. to boot, on top of this noise, they had guitar rock as background. This is ridiculous. But if you are not banking on local people to return, and instead live off one-time tourists, this seems to work. Certainly not a place for locals, although the food was ok.

It must be over 20 years since we have been to the 101 talbot street and they were already there for some time so they must be doing something right. We decided to have a pre Theatre meal there recently. I had the special, which on the night was baked haddock and although it was a little heavy on the salt, it was delicious. We were first to arrive at 5 and by the time we left, the place was full and buzzing. Many, like us, were enjoying a meal in advance of their visit to the Gate Theatre not too far away. The others may have been going to the Abbey Theatre, even closer, or just out for a good meal. Service was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the whole experience was great. I hope it won’t be as long again before we return.

Very impressed with this busy little gem of a place. Family run and it shows. Always busy but quality lunch served with a smile.

I took my Dad here for a pre-theatre meal - very straightforward, no fuss, really tasty food, and the staff were very pleasant. Would happily go back.
