Had my first visit here last week and it was really enjoyable. Located just off Grafton Street its a quirky pub decorated as an old school hardware store but a burger joint in the basement.
Was quite busy being a warm and dry Friday evening so we had our drinks out on the street.
Will certainly be back.
Stumbled across this bar on our last night in Dublin. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Cosy, a few board games downstairs for the challenge and the trinkets around the walls make for a quirky space. Don't miss it.
Had some friends over from the UK and had been telling them about the old rural Irish pub/shop/hardware store/undertaker kind of place that existed in the past. They found the concept hard to understand, so last Monday I brought them to Marys and let the place do the talking. Thankfully the undertaker aspect is one that they decided not to incorporate. The rest stand!
A nostalgic pint of Guinness in Marys is a throwback to the olden days in rural Ireland. In keeping with the theme you can also pick up the rest of your weekly necessities like a hammer, a tin of soup or some biscuits!
The Aussie who was working behind the bar was full of the chats and recommendations for the visitors which they loved.
I'll bring the next batch in, and might even stop in for a pint myself next time I'm passing
So glad we found this spot! We went back several times for the bartenders and the Guinness. The bartenders are a hoot, super friendly and very informative on places to check out in the city, as well as getting tickets for soccer games. The Guinness... tell me how the Guinness at this bar is fresher tasting than the Guinness Storehouse? Not bitter at all! It was insane! Next visit to Dublin we will certainly be coming here night 1!
