We stopped in for lunch and had a wonderful meal. The atmosphere is nothing special, but is more family oriented than a Dublin pub. This place gives you a good taste or traditional Irish food. Heads up they didn’t have Guinness!

Thank you so much for your kind review.

We do not advertise ourselves as a Dublin pub, we advertise ourselves as a family-friendly restaurant which serves some of the best fish as chips in Dublin, sorry if there was any confusion with our advertisement.

Yes, we dont have Guinness on tap, however we do serve Murphys, which is a slightly lighter Stout. It is still an Irish drink, it is brewed in Cork. We believe that with our rich food, that a lighter stout would be accompany it better.

As a small family business, we are so happy to receive positive reviews and this drives us to be even better.

Hope to see you again soon.

Thanks

Kingfisher Team

I’m so surprised this has so many 4 star ratings on TripAdvisor. It was a shambles the moment we arrived. We choose this place because it said it had car parking. The parking is a nightmare which is too long to type about and costs extra AND you have to prebook which we didn’t know about so I guess got lucky that we even had a space. They forgot towels in our room, no apology given. Our bathroom flooded through to the bedroom after showering. The carpet was so wet it dripped through to the downstairs reception area alerting them. The restaurant is next door and it’s a fish restaurant which makes the whole place stink of fish. The location is close to temple bar which is good but it’s a dodgy street. Even a taxi driver warned us of the characters lingering around there at night. Hugely overpriced for what you get.

Dear Beckeedoug,

I am sorry to hear you were disappointed by your recent stay. I would like to address the issue you had and offer you some explanation. Firstly, there was no issue with the parking, all we try to do is kindly ask all of our guests through all the booking channels that we have very limited car spaces available to guests and if they would like parking that they pre book in advance to avoid disappointment on arrival if we are fully booked. In your case we had space available and we were able to direct you to our car park that is 200m away in our secure underground car park. Our receptionist provided you with a map incase you got lost on your way to the car park. We also offer very reasonable priced rate of parking at 15 per day/night. The cheapest and the closest you will find to our hotel.

We do apologies that housekeeping forgot to put towels in your room prior to arrival, and we did apologies at the time for this when it was brought to our attention. The problem with the shower we are still unable to explain as to how your bathroom floor became wet, we were as surprised as you when we found the leak. We had no prior issues, and since your check out we have had no further issues.

Our fabulous restaurant is next door, which has the best possible extraction system available and I think your opinion that the whole place "stinks of fish" is complete rubbish and completely unfair of you to say. All our rooms are completely separate to the restaurant.

Parnell St is a very safe street and perfectly safe at night time and in fact any time of the day. I am sure you met worse lingering characters around Temple bar at night than on Parnell st.

Lastly you paid a very reasonable price of 149 for two people in a double which included the full works for breakfast on a Friday night when Ireland and Italy were playing in the rugby in the city. Room rates for other hotels were at double the price than what you paid for staying with us.

Sadly when you checked out, you told us at reception that everything was great, you didn't have any issue with the shower leaking as you hadn't noticed until we came to check your room, that you had enjoyed breakfast and off you went, and then you leave such a negative review which is very unfair for us.

We work hard every day to ensure our rooms are spotless and maintained perfectly, that our restaurant is run to the highest standards providing all our guests and the locals of Dublin a wonderful dining experience.

I am sorry that you say you didn't have an enjoyable time staying with us, but we will continue to work harder to make sure every guest leaves happier then when they arrived.

Yours Sincerely

I have stayed here a number of times and it's always a very pleasant experience. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms are very clean and spacious. And the Restaurant next door has an excellent breakfast. O'Connell Street is only 2 minutes away and The Ilac shopping centre is across the road.

We came here for breakfast while on a trip to Dublin over the weekend. It was a Saturday morning. Staff were all friendly, small place but didn’t have trouble getting a table. The food was the best part! I had a vegetarian breakfast, it was delicious! Best scrambled eggs ever! All of it was cooked to perfection. Will definitely go here again if I’m ever back in Dublin and would highly recommend!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The location is perfect as its just a short walk over the bridge to reach the temple bar area (which was amazing!) but there was also loads of bars and restaurants located on the doorstep of this hotel. Noise was never an issue! Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large, bed was massive and very comfy and the room had everything we needed in it. We loved our stay in Dublin and will most defiantly be back!
