Our cruise ship was in Dublin for one, nice long day. We booked the Irish Folk Experience online and were so happy we did! We were four adults and we easily met our tour guide, Denny, at the Molly Malone statue near Trinity College. For about three hours, we were treated to an interesting and easy walking tour of Dublin, learning very important facts of the country's struggles and independence. Then, we were treated to lunch at the Stag's Head Pub, a charming place away from the touristy "pubs". This authentic pub had great fish and chips, plus after we ate, the pub permits Denny to take guests upstairs. There we are allowed behind the bar to learn the technique of pouring the perfect Guinness. My favorite part was when after the first pour, you "watched the magic"! With Guinness in hand, we all sat down to enjoy our beer. Ronan, a terrific guitarist, arrived and he began to play. Denny handed us all a bodhran (drum), and we all tapped along with the lively Irish tunes. In all, we were with Denny for about 6 hours. The price--a real bargain, was only 59 euros per person. You would never have that kind of special, small group experience for that price on a cruise ship excursion! If you are in Dublin, be sure to take this tour with Denny. He has a wonderful personality and it was so pleasant to spend the day with him. His email is: firstname.lastname@example.org
