A marvelous house where we had a great time. Decoration, furniture, everything is comfortable. Welcome guest pack is complete and useful. Simon, Vicky were wonderful for reservation, organisation and helping us in every matter.

“Beautiful fit for purpose accomodation”
Reviewed 3 March 2017 for a stay in February 2017

15 of us stayed in this house for a hen weekend. The house was well laid out and a great size for our group. We used both the living room and the dining room area at the back for meals. We used the front room as another bedroom and kept the beds up the whole time. I was in constant contact with Simon prior to our arrival and he gave us all the information we needed and more for our stay. The crisps, biscuits and water on arrival was greatly appreciated and so were the hot scones which were delivered on the Saturday Morning. We spent a lot of time in taxis that were expensive compared to Scotland but we expected that. We had one mis hap on the Saturday morning with a leak from the upstairs shower but it didnt put a dampner (excuse the pun) on the weekend. I contacted simon and the housekeeper staright away and a handyman was round in the next 30 mins. All in all a great stay and a great house. Would recommend for large groups and would definitely stay again.

“All the comforts of home and valuable help from the house manager”
Reviewed 27 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

We were a group of 9 - 2 seniors, 2 adults, and 5 children aged 11 - 18. Our party of 9 fit the bedroom sleeping spaces perfectly without the need to use any pull out couches. The rooms were all spacious with plenty of storage. Our favorite room was the wood paneled dining room. We found ourselves congregating there most mornings and evenings. It has a gorgeous view of the landscaped back yard (by night the outdoor string lights illuminate the garden). The kitchen is large and has everything you would need to prepare meals. The bathrooms were modern with plenty of hot water. Since we stayed in November, it was quite cold outside. The boys needed an extra heater (provided) in the "blue" room. That was the coldest bedroom. The "welcome package" with tea and bread, etc. was enough to get us through the first day so we didn't have to immediately run out to the store. The fresh flowers in the entry hall were a beautiful extra. The house is located within close walking distance of stores and restaurants. The Washerwoman's food was delicious and about a five minute walk away. Next to that was an Italian place to eat-in or for take away. A convenience store with ice cream was next door. When leaving the house, turn right to get to these spots. You can catch Bus 83 into the city centre from there. You can reach Glasnevin Cemetery and John Kavanaugh's The Gravedigger pub after a 15 minute walk. The Cemetery tour is a must see. The pub has been in business since the 1830's and is still run by the original family. When leaving the house and turning left, you will find a convenience store, post office, and Chinese take away. There is another bus stop with 4 bus routes that will take you right into the city centre. The house is located at the very end of Ballymun Road. It's a quiet little stretch of a larger, busy road. Some of our taxis had trouble finding it. It would be helpful to know that it is between Griffith Ave/R102 and Old Finglas Road. Since the house is some distance from city centre, be prepared to pay for transportation to/fro. We used the buses which are 2.70 Euro per adult per ride, 1.15 Euro per child per ride. The house manager (thanks, Vicky) kindly arranged taxis for all of our early morning transport needs to reach our day trips that left from city centre. Expect to pay from 12 to 15 Euro to get into the city. The Hailo app proved less expensive than taxis. The house manager was easy to reach via WhatsApp and always available to answer questions and lend assistance when we needed it. The owner, Simon, was easy to reach while coordinating the trip and provided lots of information about Dublin. I would recommend Near City Rentals to all of my friends and family who plan to visit Dublin.

“Location and ammenities can't be beat”
Reviewed 10 July 2016 for a stay in June 2016

We just returned from a delightful week in Dublin. Our extended family group ranged from 2 to 89 and all had a good time. I must say that a few of the special features of the home make it stand out. The sun room/dining room is just perfect! Our family likes to eat together and play games/cards while on vacation and most often we rent a place based on this criteria above all else. The kitchen is truly unique. If I were to remodel a cottage I would take my ideas from this great layout. Everything we needed was available, AND 2 tea kettles! We used the grill and outdoor space every day. While we were hoping to take advantage of a forthcoming attic space/bedroom, Simon made everything work with roll-a-ways - Thanks! I am sure when this addition is finalized it will be wonderful. The location of this home is perfect. walk left to minutes to get to the 9.11.13.14 bus to downtown Dublin, or walk right to get to the 83 bus going into Dublin as well. By a Leap Card and leave your car at home. Also, it is a quick 10-15 ride to the airport!

A few details- Eat at the Washerwoman (just around the corner) as much as possible!! This restaurant and her sister restaurant The Woolen Mills are absolutely wonderful!!!! We also ordered from Independent Pizza as we had a big group to feed when we first arrived.

Payment, check-in and out and security refund processes were all smooth with no issues. Simon's staff that greeted us were very nice. Everything was as advertised. If I ever decide to geo back to Dublin I will definitely try to stay here again.
