Sentimental attachment to Madigan’s Abbey street from student days – one of our favourite wathering holes. Glad to see it has lost none of its character and love the décor. There is a great Irish atmosphere and the servings are generous - the Sunday Sunday roast was the best. A huge mix of languages and people – all chilling out with welcoming staff and decor with character. So many pubs have toilets on a different level (usually involving a trek downstairs) but glad to report they are readily accessible here (important for older clientele!). Great location across from Luas stop - always a joy.

We had a long morning on a tour of Malehide Castle in Dublin and were ready for a hardy lunch in a traditional pub. We decided to try Madigan's on Abbey. I ordered the Roast Joint with beef. This was a huge dish with roast beef. mashed potatoes, stuffing, carrots, etc. all on a large flat Yorkshire pudding. I was hungry and have a large appetite but I didn't finish it all. It was very good and very filling. However, my wife was still appalled that I was able to take a couple of bites of her burger after she had eaten all she could. It was also very good.

Didn’t spend much time at Madigan’s as it was just an early afternoon interlude. Our server Carla was a cheeky(in a pleasant, friendly way) young lady who was fun to chat with.Aaron behind the bar was also just as friendly as he could be. I would go back in a heartbeat. Not one of those pubs that seems to go on forever. Just a charming little place to be for a pleasant chat and drink.

Daytime, very small Irish pub. We had the soup on the menu, tasty and relaxing. It is just off the busy o'connel street and easy to duck in. Frequented by locals. No smoking in Pubs now in Dublin.
