Ok, last visit was 3 years ago. My wife met the owner last time, he was friendly and gracious and she wanted to go back. I got a hotel close to Parnell so it would be easy to go back.
At first all was well, then indifferent service, I watched my appetizer sit on the ledge for WAY too many minutes and then the appetizer was served with the entree. Not happy at that point, they switched servers, took entree back and after I was done with appetizer brought out the same not redone, entree. OF COURSE MY FAULT because I should have called them on it, but it was late. I didn’t feel like being confrontational so there you go...
But the lesson... kitchen doesn’t care, servers REALLY don’t care.. and if the corporate response to this is ‘you should have told us’ the manager was walking back and forth all night and HE should have known there was an issue, so management didn’t care either. Thee are many places to grab a meal in the area and O’Connell St... better off to find ine

A colleague and I stopped in for a quick lunch of "pub grub" recently and found the experience to be one of the best so far in Dublin. Location wise, The Parnell is close to some key shopping areas, tourist sites, and public transportation. The food menu contains traditional Irish items (fish and chips, cottage pie, beef & Guinness casserole, bacon and cabbage, etc.). The service, especially during the busy lunch hour, was prompt and friendly. The drink options are extensive and match up with whatever your budget may be. If you find yourself in Dublin and are looking for a good place to rest, eat, or drink, I highly recommend.
