An unassuming but warm and cosy setting serving tremendous food - the "trio of goose" is a particular highlight - also enjoyed a really nice fillet of beef. Extensive and quality wine list also.

Excellent attentive staff didn't miss a beat all evening, and even (unprompted) removed one item from the bill due to a small oversight in preparation. This is a place that clearly cares about its reputation, which is well-deserved.

First of all i do want to say i love this restaurant, i have been here a few times and have loved it every time, so that's why it was so disappointing that it wasn't as good on Saturday night.

Now i do realise it was valentines weekend and you were very busy, but i feel some of the things that happened, shouldn't of happened in such a high end restaurant.

When we arrived, we were shown to our table, usually you would be handed a menu straight away after you are seated. We were left sitting there for at least 10 mins with no menu, before i had to ask for one. That should not happen.

We got our starters, which were beautiful and then our main course which was also delicious. I have not a bad word to say about the food, it was gorgeous. It was just the service that let us down. After our main course it was like we were forgotten about, we were again left sitting there, we had ran out of drinks also. It was another 15 mins or so before i had to ask again for a dessert menu. Once we had decided on dessert we were left waiting again to order, bearing in mind we still had no drinks or food in front of us. Eventually i asked again could we order dessert, we got dessert which was again beautiful and had our coffees. we finished up and were ready to leave when we asked for the bill. Was left waiting for a good while and had to ask again for the bill. When the waiter came over to take the money, he asked did we need change, we said no and he said thanks and went to rush off, my husband had to call after him to get his coat, he came back and got my husbands coat and rushed off again.
So we left one of our favourite restaurants kind of disappointed that we had always enjoyed it so much and the food is amazing but the service had been really bad. I always feel that no matter how good the food is somewhere, if the service is bad it ruins it and would make me think twice about going back.

I am writing this review to make you be aware of the bad service over the weekend and hopefully you can get the restaurant back to the one i loved and remembered.

This place always delivers superb food. The restaurant is elegant yet casual which is an excellent fit. Service is genuine with staff that know the menu well. Wine list excellent and menu very varied. I have never had a bad experience in the restaurant and there is always a great atmosphere.

Booked at incredibly short notice so grateful they managed to squeeze us in. Fab dining experience- exciting varied menu, wines by the glass affordable and the loveliest of helpful attentive staff. Thanks for a great night! We will definitely be back! Maria & Paul Evans. X
