To those of you unable to hire a car and who are looking for an affordable way of seeing Dublin's coastline try taking the Dart (train) southbound to Killiney and walk back northwards towards Dalkey, for here you'll find one of Dublin's top Family run restaurants.

The weather wasn't great on our visit so the walk from Killiney to Dalkey was on what the Irish refer to as a "Soft Day" but to which you and I refer to as damp, wet and windy. However walking into a very warm and welcoming Finnegans made the previous hours walk in the rain all the more worthwhile.

Great seafood, great menu selection, great service, lovely atmosphere in the build up to Christmas and a great pint of Guinness. If you want to save yourself the walk just get off at Dalkey as the station is only about 50 metres away. A real treat if you or friends are visiting Dublin.

We'll be back.

Love going to this place. One of my favourite pubs in Dublin. It can always be topped and tailed with a good walk. Staff are brilliant and the speed of service is some of the best in the world I'm sure.

Dalkey, a very pretty seaside town is home to this very typical Irish pub. Almost prototypical decor inside is comfortingly familiar. Had a nice lunch: carrot and coriander soup and then corned beef mains. Both lovely. Service was friendly and polished. And the Guinness was cold!

This pub, in the quaint town of Dalky, is a great place to stop for a pint--I hear the food is good but can't confirm this personally. Friendly, family run place with all the charm of a classic pub. Stain glass back windowed room is lovely and Beamish on tap here. Worth the dart ride out to visit this lovely town and pub.
