This pub, in the quaint town of Dalky, is a great place to stop for a pint--I hear the food is good but can't confirm this personally. Friendly, family run place with all the charm of a classic pub. Stain glass back windowed room is lovely and Beamish on tap here. Worth the dart ride out to visit this lovely town and pub.

We've been in Ireland less than 4 days now, and have already eaten lunch twice at Finnegans. A word of caution for all you first-timers like us -- they only serve food until 3 PM daily, so don't plan on having an evening meal here unless you are planning to dine of Guinness. :-) On our first visit I had the open-faced smoked salmon sandwich and my wife had the Butternut squash soup and their special toasted Guinness brown bread and both were excellent. On our second visit I had the salmon and crab salad and she had the open-faced crab salad sandwich, and again both were excellent. Fortunately for us, we're here for another week before returning to Texas, so we are looking forward to at least one more visit before we leave.

We were on a CIE tour and had some free time so we stopped in for a drink. Beautiful and welcoming. We were told that it was a favorite of author Maeve Binchley as well as Bono and First Lady Michele Obama and their families went there. Wish we had found it sooner and could have had dinner there but we had very limited time.

Finegans is a nice bar which does an excellent lunch time service & the scampi is E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T. As well is being located in Dalkey Village it is 200 metres from Dalkey DART Station so easy to get to from Dublin City Centre. You never know who you will see there having lunch but think of the lead singer from the greatest rock band in the world!
