The Dublin Mountains are very close to Dublin City, thankfully. A bus ride from the city centre will take you very close to the Dublin Mountains, eg the number 15 bus from City Centre will take you very close to Massey’s Estate, a wonderful wood in the Dublin Mountains. We had a lovely gentle stroll around here today, it’s a wood with a gentle stream. An interesting thing we came across in the wood was an ice house (see image) where long ago the locals would store their lamb. The Dublin Mountains are well worth a visit.

Visited here just after arriving from the States. I cannot say enough about how beautiful and serene this location is just outside the city. It's a must see.

Whether you go for a picnic a pub lunch a drive or a walk it doesn't matter. What does matter is that you do go........and enjoy! Easy access. Relatively safe. Be sensible......enjoy and be respectful of the flora and fauna.
