We were made very welcome, the location was great as was the price.... The only things that were minor irritations were: a faulty shower; a god awful carpet! Not dirty or anything, just not to our taste (just think treble cleffs EVERYWHERE!); bathroom also smelt a bit musty; being placed in the room right next to the lift wasn't great either, as it was v.noisy. Would consider staying again... But would appreciate a shower with a shower head, a neutral carpet and a room away from the lift! At the end of the day... We were there for a few days to see the sights and sample some guinness... All of the above was neither here or there and didn't impact on our stay in Dublin - and the price was right!

Dear Paul,

Thank you for your review, and I am glad that oyu enjoyed your time in Dublin. All negative comments are appreciated as they continuosly help us to improve the service that we offer.

There are musical notes on the carpets as the hotel is themed on George Frederic Handel whose performed the Messiah on the sight where the hotel was built. We are currently going through a refurbishment programme at the moment and new carpets are on the list of possibilities but as they are still in good condition, this may be a future thought. My apologies for the shower, there actually is a shower head on it, but they are a strange design and it looks as if there is a piece missing form them. New "water conserving" shower heads are on order and will hopefully be here in the near future.

I hope that these points do not deter you from considering staying with us again in the future and i Look forward to hopefully welcoming you back to the George Frederic Handel Hotel.

A good base for discovering Dublin. We used the express bus from the airport and the hotel is just around the corner from one of the stops. Walking to the main attractions very easy we never used any public transport. Friendly and helpful reception staff. Hotel room number 403 a sideways view of the river Liffey and the cathedral. Clean and comfortable. Minor inconveniences bathroom electric radiator didn't work and there was no wardrobe. Plenty of hot water and a comfortable nights sleep. Worth the money.

Room Tip: We can recommend the top 4th floor our room 403 very quiet.

Just returned from a long weekend away in Dublins fair City to see the sites and sample the black stuff. We needed a hotel close to the Temple Bar nightlife but far enough away to ensure a quiet nights sleep.
We chose this hotel purely on its location and were pleasantly suprised. Its just a five minute walk to the hustle and bustle of Temple Bar & even less to Dublin`s oldest bar.

Our room had just been re furbished and all normal hotel facilities were available. TV, Tea & Coffe, free wi fi, shampoo and soap, clean towels and compfy beds.
The traditional Irish breakfast was exceptional and for our waitress Anita, nothing was too much trouble.
Can`t rate this hotel high enough.
Give it a try.

The location of the hotel is perfect for anyone travelling to Dublin. All the main attractions are within walking distance. The hotel itself however is good but not great. It's a bit crusty and is in need of minor refurbishment especially where the bathroom is concerned. The rooms are a good size and reasonably clean but poorly lit and not well soundproofed concerning outside noises - despite the closed windows I could hear the traffic outside quite clearly and the clock bells every 15 minutes. The free wifi is great but the connection is rather unreliable.

Despite this, the staff are all very welcoming and friendly both at the reception and breakfast which makes for a reasonably pleasant stay overall.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper maybe ask not to be street facing.

Dear Sally,

Thank you for your comments and its nice to hear that you had a reasonably pleasant stay with us.

I have taken on board all your comments as negative ones help us to continually improve the service that we offer. We are currently undertaking a refurbishment programme and hope to have this complete within the next 6 - 8 weeks which will give the place that needed "face-lift". I am also looking into the Wi Fi problem and plan to replace the existing system.

I am glad to see that you were made welcome as customer service is extremely importantant in the hotel world.

I do hope that we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the George Frederic Handel Hotel once again in the future.
