For two nights prior to our cruise on July 24, 2023 we scheduled The Uppercross House Hotel located on 23-32 Upper Rathmines Rd, Dublin 6. Hotel selection was based on proximity to the cruise terminal. We were allowed into the room at noon. Hotel not offering transfers from the Dublin airport (DUB) to the hotel and taxi fare was 40 euro + tip. Room was clean, with Queen bad and double bad. We arrived to hotel at 12:20 pm and they allowed us in the room where prep work was just completed. To get to the reception one needs to go through steps and it might present an issue for visitors with heavy luggage or mobility issues. So, before stepping in ask receptionist how to get inside through the car parking area. Hotel also provided safe, electric tea pot with selection of teas and coffees. The breakfast is included with the room charges and they provided very good hot and cold breakfast selections. It was a good two nights stay prior to our cruise to Norway.

Excellent friendly hotel with an amazing bar in Mother Reilly's. The staff are always very friendly and clued in . I had the chicken wings and they were amazing. The bar also has a huge amount of beers on draft .
Room tip: Get in early for food, it always seems busy and gets a great crowd

This is a great Hotel and I have stayed there a few times. Very friendly staff, a Car Park and a good choice for Breakfast. It's about a 15/20 walk to the City or just about 5/6 mins on the Luas which is about 9 mins from Hotel

I am a Dubliner who lives in London. I return home to see family quite a lot and I've now found a new more ideal place to stay - it ticks all the boxes! So close to taxi rank to take you into town, also served my local buses. City Centre is a 30 minute walk if you fancy a stroll. The rooms have an essence of homliness (very 20th century;) but the artwork is fab! Excellent shower, marvellous breakfast. The one thing you need to do is keep an eye on off season prices - the room per night price has risen and you can now compare prices with hotels closer to town (along Camden St) but if the price is right... go for it. A great place to stay. You won't regret it.
Room tip: King Room which was a little more spacious and quiet. It did not overlook the beer garden of Mother Reilly's pub next to the hotel.

Well Uppercross House is a 70s B&B masquerading as an hotel. Grossly overpriced at €220 a night (extra if you dont pay at the time of booking with booking.com). In fairness, given that part of the B&B would appear to be given over to immigrants, the rooms that are left are charged at a premium rate. The staff were pleasant and helpful.
You can easily get a bus into Dublin from Rathmines.
