A long overdue review of Suesey Street. I have lunch at least once a week in this beautiful stylish elegant restaurant in a great location close to Leeson Street Bridge. Suesey Street has three connected dining areas - a bar, the main dining room and a lovely outdoor heated terrace. It is a particularly good venue for groups and private functions.
The food is Modern European in style but with a strong emphasis on high quality Irish produce the provenance of which is noted on the menu eg Kilmore Cod, Lambay Crab, Five Mile Goats chews. I ate from the new lunch menu yesterday and it was excellent. The Lambay Crab salad starter was wonderful - a generous portion of fresh crab meat on a bed of beautifully dressed carrot and coriander salad with thin thyme crackers. My companion had the tempura of Cod which was also a good size with a light batter on an orange and fennel salad. Other interesting new dishes include Monkfish with a langoustine and peanut sauce or Pork Belly with fennel and apple kimchee.
Overall a lovely place to dine with great staff under the highly attentive eye of the ever charming and entertaining John Healy.
