We spent two nights in Dublin in this hotel. We showed up at 8:00 am with no reservations, exhausted from a very long flight. The staff found us a room and then managed to get us into the room within two hours. The room was charming and had plenty of room. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom a fair size with good, warm water. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others.

Very convenient location for walking to the various sites in Dublin. The staff was outstanding and very helpful. Breakfast was available for purchase in the restaurant located in the hotel. We had an American Breakfast for about 7-8 euros and it was very good.

The room was very comfortable. Ours overlooked the cathedral.

just returned after another stay in the Harding Hotel Dublin, this a really great hotel and staff on the reception can not do enough for you, they'll find out the bus times/train times, tell you all about the local attractions, and they always book me the room I like, you don't get that at many hotels, Nathan in the bar is such a friendly person always welcomes us back and even though their so busy always has time for a quick word, the food is good the Guinness is good and the band is great, they play from 6pm-10pm and its all the old traditional music, can't wait for our next trip in the near future, really rate this hotel 10/10.

Room tip: love the room facing Christ church cathedral.

Overall, my husband and I were comfortable at this hotel. We stayed for two nights and here is my summary:

Pros: Great value! For two nights, it cost less than a typical one night's stay in a U.S. hotel. The beds were comfortable and the overall space was clean. The pub Darkey Kelly's is just downstairs and is fun, warm, offers delicious food, lively, and given our room was above the pub, I was pleased that the live music went down soon after 10. Also, the room is very spacious for a European hotel!

Areas for improvement: (1) I don't think this is really a ding, but my fellow American travelers, do not expect the same levels of warm hospitality and friendliness that you may expect in the States. The front desk staff were not rude or cold, but just not quite warm. That was fine with me. They were kind and straight forward, but I can see how that can put off some people who value hotel staff to be very warm. (2) The area near the lift (elevator) smells like cleaning supplies or some sort of cleaning smell like when you go to a restaurant and they quickly wipe down a table, leaving the table sticky but clean. (3) I blame this on the warm weather but whew, the hotel room and lobby were so warm!!! I slept in a tank top and shorts the entire time I was there. Even with the heater inside the room turned off, we were very stuffy.

The cons aren't really cons at all, but that was my observation and experience. The area around the hotel is convenient. The 747 airport bus stops are right outside, there are multiple coffee shops, you're within walking distance to wonderful places within Dublin.

Dear dc20202,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of the Harding Hotel following your recent visit to Dublin.

I am very surprised that you found the hotel front desk staff to be anything but approachable, friendly & helpful.
From so many numerous reviews on this site you will see that all of the hotel are so regularly praised, individuals often highlighted for special mention, that find the hotel staff to be so helpful from giving directions, printing off boarding passes, making dinner/tour reservations as well as the everyday check-in and check-out processes.

All rooms come equipped with an AC unit that can either heat or cool the air in the room to the guest's preference by controlling the mode for either heat/cool air to temperature and fan speed.
Windows in all rooms open to allow some fresh cool air. Our unusually mild November has pretty much ended now but should a guest find a room temperature unsuitable they can be shown how to adjust the remote control in their room until the degree is right.

I am glad that you found the Harding great value for money plus that our location was so convenient, the rooms were so clean & comfortable and that the hotel's bar offered great music, food & drink.

I do hope that we may be able to welcome you back to the Harding in the future and I'm sure that any niggles that you may have experienced in your recent visit can be avoided.

With best regards,

Jonathan Hynes
Manager

Front desk staff went above and beyond from simple where can is a drug store to dinner recommendation. Their concern and help with lost baggage was way beyond our expectation.
Room was quiet, large and comfortable. Cafe served a lovely menu, wine was superb.
Darkey Kelly's pub was great fun, we ended all our evenings with yummy beverages and music!
Across from Christ Church, walking distance to 90% of all sites, fun and food in this lovely city.
