Temple Bar is a known tourist district and as such, it is more expensive than it should be. Still, a nice place to walk around for a while. Facing it is Dublin Castle, a great place to visit.

Over the years this area has changed from a great place for Dublin people to go out to an area just for tourists. There are some Dublin pubs still off the main track like The Foggy Dew. But in general it caters for tourists and the prices aren't cheap €7 a pint. I know the rates are high but come on. Temple Bar is a rip off area not for Irish people but to take money from foreigners. I won't be going through again.

Although this is one of the oldest parts of Viking Dublin it is today the center of thriving pub life in Dublin. There are plenty of eating and pub options as you walk through these historic cobble streets. Definitely take the time to explore the Temple Bar streets during your Dublin visit - must see for tourists.
