Owner description: A magnificent cathedral that houses Jonathan Swift's remains (he wrote Gulliver's Travels). It is the only remaining cathedral in Ireland with a daily sung services. A small entrance fee is charged for tourists and all money raised goes back to paying for the upkeep of the building.

Definitely worth the time to go inside & explore & see all the history inside. Words can't describe the experience. A must to see.

Well, I guess Irish people have special connection to this place, so as a full disclaimer, I'm not Irish. So from my point of view, this is a grand place, but I wouldn't say it's a world class attraction. The cathedral architecture is not that special, it was rebuilt many times and the most of the building structure is fairly recent. In that sense Christ Church nearby is a more interesting place. Also, frankly, this is the first time I saw admission fees charged to enter a cathedral. That also positions this place more into a landmark category than a spiritual place.

There are over 20 stops on the hop on-off bus and you will be hard pressed to do it all in a day or even two. I'd place this in the top five things to do on that route. But thats because Im a history buff also interested in the history of religions.

St. Patrick's Cathedral is a must see for those visiting Dublin. Most of my favorite pictures from my trip were at St. Patrick's - a very beautiful site. They do have a gift shop within the church as well if you are looking for souveniers.
