At the top of Connell St this museum is easy to walk to - but there are a lot of road crossings to cross near to the Theatre (and some road works) which may be a challenge for groups with children- but don't let that put you off.

The exhibitions are always thought provoking and very well curated. They include video & sound installations as well as the more traditional art forms.

The Ocean exhibition that explores issues around migration is a very varied show with some wonderful pieces of work.

The Francis Bacon studio & video about his work give a special dimension to the appreciation of his work on display.

Always a friendly welcome and the smaller scale of the building in comparison to the large museums & galleries gives it a lovely relaxed ambience - perfect for quiet contemplation.

For me it's the 'must - see' gallery in Dublin.

Thank Gayle R

A visit to the Hugh Lane gallery is free and absolutely worth your time. If you like WB Yeats you'll have fun finding the portraits his father and brother made, as well as a portrait of the man himself, Hugh Lane. They have a stunning collection of stained glass and a nice cafe to check out afterwards! Plus it's right next to the Dublin Writer's Museum and the Garden of Remembrance.

this is an excellent museum that has some of Ireland's best known artists. It is north of the river by about 15minutes by walking. Lots of Francis Bacon works here.

This gallery is always a treat. Well laid out, the interior encapsulates the old and new architecture beautifully. There is always something interesting on display. The Francis Bacon studio is well worth a trip and they have live music on sundays.

Lovely building and easy to get to but I can't say that I'd go again unless there was a special exhibition on.
There are some very 'worthy' pieces here but not much that floated my boat.
How do you spell neugh?
