We booked this tour via Tourism Office (opposite Trinity College). Boarded the bus at 6:45AM, Bud (aka Patrick) is an awesome tour guide. He is a son of the soil, and very funny, affable and helpful fella. One of the best parts of the tour was his great witty saying, some quite subtle but if you get it rib splitting funny. I am still chuckling. We land at Rock of Castle, it was drizzling a bit, also got a long shot picture of the castle from the highway, thanks to Bud. The curios shop is manned by a very friendly, kind and the politest woman you will ever meet. Good prices. Next stop Blarney - once in a lifetime experience. You will go up a steep stairway, frighteningly good, then get to kiss the stone (I won't say more, you have to do it yourself to truly experience this unique trip). The restaurant in the parking (cafe) is fantastic beyond words. The food the ambience, the servers just so good. The crowd was truly European, very nice, well dressed people with families, kids, babies etc. Very warm and fuzzy feeling, with Christmas decoration all over. Words cannot describe the good feeling. Then we stopped at the 'Worlds largest Irish Shop" it might just be, another great stop. Very classy. Kids all over the place, well behaved and locals too, they looked well off. Next off to Cork, very short stay not even an hour, then went to an excellent cafe called Cork Coffee, then did the English Market. On the way back to Dublin we stopped at an old Irish town/ hamlet called Abbelleix, went to a 250 yr old pub. Excellent day, long though. Bud is an excellent bus tour guide. Highly recommended.
