Description: Step out of the bustling cobblestone streets of Temple Bar and down the stairs to Tomahawk Steakhouse where beautiful windows allow in light from street level. This is an intimate and unique dining setting – and our steaks are the star of the show. We have spent months researching where to source the best steaks from around the world and the results of that exploration is there is no better beef than Irish and we are proud to say that we serve only the market-best at Tomahawk. Tomahawk has 80 delightful seats for you and your party to choose from. We have comfy corners matched with matte timber tables adorned with leather seats, where diners can enjoy their delicious meals under the ambient street lighting that pours in from above. Or you can choose to perch comfortably along the gorgeous timber dining bar set around our open kitchen and watch the theatre of a professional kitchen at work in front of you.

Tomahawk only opened a few weeks ago so minor inconsistencies could be expected. Don’t get me wrong- this is a well laid out high end casual restaurant specialising in steaks and they deliver superbly. A good choice of staters available (but €14 for three small scallops is a bit steep). Mains provides the expected choice of fillets to T-Bone (€38) through to he signature Tomahawk for two (€80). Sides well well priced at €5 and there’s enough for two in a single portion. Starters and mains expertly presented and food was cooked perfectly. If I have a (very) small grumble it was the service - which appeared a bit hap hazard. It was 20 minutes before we had been offered a drink and then, like busses, two servers arrived within 2 minutes. We also found that different servers would check on us and deliver our food. Also took a while to get the check but we where in no hurry. Meal for two came to €150 with tip so it’s not cheap but it’s a wonderful spot that’s sure to get better. I’m already looking forward to a return visit and soon. If it’s not on your list it should be. But book in advance so your not disappointed. We sat at 5:30pm and it was quite full.

Myself and girlfriend went here soon after opening it's doors. Food is amazing , but the service wasn't great - some theething problems . Asked for a recommendation between two starters and the server just didn't know the menu at all. Got lobster brioche rolls and rissotto to start - both very nice. For main we got a tomahawk for 2 but waited an hour for it- thankfully worth the wait , but still a long wait . Sides of fried onions and parmesan fries were both very nice . Shared a dessert of caramel choc gnache that was also pretty nice . Food is a little pricey , but not extortionate for the quality of food. Restaurant itself is lovely , nice atmosphere . Our server in general was very nice , but just kept forgetting things like to bring a menu after we asked, forgetting the bill after we asked and not really knowing the menu . I'm sure it's just teething problems that will be sorted after a bit of time . Most importantly, food was absolutely top notch and will definitely be back .

Great addition to the Dublin Steakhouse scene, really cool venue at the end of Temple Bar. The Caesar Salad for starters was the best I tasted, scallops were Delish too. Both of us had the delmonica for mains which was cooked to perfection.

Sides were huge and really tasty onion stack and Parmesan fries as good as you will get anywhere else in Dublin if not better.

Very reasonable for the quality of food. Will defiantly be back to sample the 12oz Filet.

Do select the Tomahawk signature dish. T-bone steak was ok (3 rating), but not perfect. Good view of the kitchen work from sitting at the bar (where you also can eat)

Had noticed the opening of Dollard (a kind of Dublin Wholefoods) but had not made it in.

Then I saw the addition of Tomahawk to the Empire and through the simple medium of Opentable, I got a booking last night.

It was great. A mellower version of Fade Street Social. A very nice room, pleasant and enthusiastic staff, great wine and steaks. All very well done and reasonable value.

Special shout out to the Oysters.
