We went on Valentines evening, every course was superb. Very efficient staff, then to finish the meal with a homemade walnut whip, well that was just the icing on the cake . It’s a shame it’s over the water from where we live otherwise it would become a key favourite restaurant.

This is not a restaurant you are going to happen on in your travels, it's a bit of the beaten track and not where you would expect to find a restaurant of this quality, although Chapter One is just around the corner. Never the less this place could turn this street into the beaten track.

The food is a really high standards, I started with the steak tartar which was beautiful. The next course was beef cheek which was so tender and rich. The desserts were decorations of treats like bounty bars, ice cream sandwich and orange split and the were fantastic.

I recommend you go of road and find this place you will not regret it. We will definitely be back

Don't let the dodgy location put you off.....

Loved every minute of our time here. Don't let the rather grandiose menu put you off. Everything is flavoursome and tasty We were a party of ten and each person ordered different things and enjoyed them equally.

Not in the best part of town bit it's worth a taxi ride.

Family dinner at Mr Fox - our first visit and will certainly not be our last - most enjoyable dining experience. Booked an early 5:00 pm on a Friday evening - the later table was 8:30 and we had early starts the next morning.

Basement restaurant with a small bar with seating for an aperitif- kicked off with a lovely Portuguese Alvarinho - Santos De Casa - lovely and fresh and crisp - stayed on it over dinner - very enjoyable.

Lovely table in the larger than expected dining room - service friendly and attentive.

The dining experience was excellent from beautiful crab with eel and avocado - through goats cheese to tuna with watermelon - all beautifully presented and not as you would expect - great start.

Mains were equally as delicious duck leg with coco beans, risotto with beetroot and fennel, beef cheeks with onions and lovely sides of beans with chili and baby carrots - see the pictures below to do them justice.

Despite being satisfied we decided that the deserts looked too good to ignore - right decision - the Iceberger (memories of childhood) was outstanding - the cheeseboard delicious and the caramel was apparently so melt in the mouth that it was not shared!!!

Finished up as the table was needed so repaired to the bar for a finishing drink

Well worth the visit

Booking needed and recommended as this is a very popular restaurant and rightly so.

Easily accessible via the Luas - stop is Parnell and the restaurant is on the opposite side of the square
