The location is fine- 1 block from the 'tourist circle'. It's not a tourist/hotel block, more residential, but fine. There's no A/C which was OK in May but probably uncomfortable in July/August. The bedrooms in our particular unit were smaller than the pics, but OK for a group of 5 for 2 nights. 24 hour desk clerk is reassuring and helpful. It was pretty quiet except for some drunks outside for a little while one night, which is probably not bad for Dublin. If you remember the water heater switch it's not a problem. Overall a good place.

would like to tell you all about the terrible time and service my wife and I had with the company StayDublin.com and their Christchurch apartments.

When we arrived in Ireland, we were supposed to have had a bus come to pick us up. We had informed the company that we would arrive at 11:30 and should be out of the airport by 12:00. We were a few minutes late and arrived at the Coach Parking at 12:05, with no bus there. The signage at the airport stated that Staydublin buses run on the hour, so we assumed we had just missed the bus and proceeded to wait until 1:00 for the next one, which did not show up. It was only by trekking back into the airport and calling did we learn that the bus had left at 12:00 (without us) and only came back when pre-booked. The lady at the office told us they would send the bus back and would be there in twenty minutes.

When the bus finally showed up 40 minutes later, we were met and driven into Dublin by a very unhappy and rude bus driver. Not exactly the first impression of Irish hospitality we were hoping for. When we arrived at the Christchurch apartments, we were unable to open the door, because we were given no codes. The driver called the office for us and wrote down the codes we were supposed to have received in an email 48 hours in advance of our flight (by the way, I checked and this email had been sent only about 9 hours prior, when we were already on board the airplane). The driver then drove off, complaining, before we could check that the codes would work.

As it turned out, they did not work. The driver had mistakenly written down the wrong code for both the door and, eventually, the box with our apartment key. Now, I had to leave my wife with our bags on the street (while raining) and find a phone, which I did at a different hotel down the street and call the office, again, to get the correct codes.

We finally got into our apartment, hoping to finally relax and get some rest. Unfortunately, the apartments weren't exactly what is described on StayDublin’s website. We found the place (Christchurch apartment #30) to be quite unclean. The kitchen had dried food on the counters and handles. The dishes and cutlery were dirty and also had food stuck to them. The living room table was also dirty and the bathroom had a strong smell of urine and half used soap bars. The only exception was the bedroom, where the linen appeared nice and clean.

The first thing I wanted to do was hook up my computer so I could contact them again about these things, but then I discovered I couldn't get the Internet to work! No one informed us that you needed a code and it was available in the lobby (This, of course, wouldn't have been necessary if the lobby actually had a person in it.) So, once again, I had to walk back to the other hotel and call again so I could get this information. Posting a phone number for people to call if there are problems doesn't work when people coming from a different country normally don't have a working phone with them.

At this point, with our first day in Ireland now completely ruined, we decided enough was enough and we left and went to a different hotel. We did not even stay one night in the apartment.

When I informed the StayDublin about our experience I did not receive a reply for several days. The only response I have received so far is a short email stating they will further investigate. That was a few days after I spoke with them and I have heard nothing since.

My wife and I had a wonderful time in Ireland after this first day and once we were settled in decent accommodations. My advice to anyone who is thinking of visiting Ireland is DO NOT USE StayDublin.com or any of its affiliates. You will have a much more enjoyable time.

although the apartment was spacious for the 5 of us, it was filthy, and when we asked for it to be vacuumed at least, we were told we would have to pay extra. needless to say we refused and the apartment never got cleaned even though we asked twice.Towels etc are only changed once aweek, unless you pay extra for new ones.the put-u -up bed was broken and filthy, again we reported it to no avail.the toilet took 15-20 minutes to refill once used ,we were told its to conserve water, yet the shower knocks you off your feet. (no rubber mat for the shower).we ended up keeping a bucket of water ready to flush the loo.the toilet may be ok for two people but not for 5.we rate it two star and say it should be renamed St.Discusting.also its used by hen and stag parties who seem to disregard the fact that its a no smoking complex, and maybe if you stay here you also will get woken by the smoke alarms going off when the revellers return in the early hours of the morning. NOT RECOMMENDED. the staff have lost the Irish charm we all love, and not very helpful, as most are from foreign parts. avoid using taxi,s unless you enjoy being fleeced, they charge for every passenger, plus pickup, plus a 5 euro standard charge before you set off. we were charged 17 euros for a 2 minute ride

Stayed over a 4 day weekend in a group of 6.
There were a few issues with the apartment when using it for 6 (it was advertised as sleeping 7 - with one on the sofa in the lounge presumably):

Huge shortage of hot water - the immersion heater had a label on it saying it only goes on long enough for 2 showers. That would be two short showers. You needed to run the extra timer for more hot water, but this was only for an hour and the size of tank was too small so there were a couple of cold showers every morning even if we got up early and ran the extra timer a couple of times. Frankly this was unacceptable, the apartment was advertised as sleeping 7 and has 3 bedrooms.

The living room/diner had a dining table, but with only 5 chairs! Which was a pain for breakfast.

There was only seating for 5 at most in the living room - one 2.5 seater sofa and two arm chars. This didn't bother us too much, but might have if we planned an evening in or you were in a family group with children or grandparents.

There were not enough glasses - wine or tumblers - which again was tedious.

Wifi wasn't present. There appeared to be network access via a wall socket (RJ45 for the techies out there), but these days wireless should be standard - who takes a laptop and cable away with them?

The TV was absolutely tiny (22" or so) - we didn't spend much time in the apartment, but if you have children or the weather is poor this could become an issue.

The main bathroom had the slowest toilet fill in history which is just a basic problem that should really be sorted.

The apartment was freezing when we got in there - none of the heaters had been turned on. Which would have been easy to do.

The main bedroom was a good size and had en suite, the other two rooms were smaller and one hadn't been made into a double, despite this being booked. There were wardrobes and bedside tables, but often the furniture got in the way of opening the doors - annoying if you were staying a week or two, but not if for a weekend living out of a bag.

There was a large utility type room, which had a washing machine, but no airer or clothes line. And the bulb was out in the room.

The staff at reception were helpful and helped whenever we asked.
Location was good - 5 mins from the river and 10 mins walk to the Temple Bar, etc.

Overall: good service, clean, but let down by a few basics. Might consider staying again, but would probably consider two smaller apartments.
Would recommend, but with caveats.

We stayed here over the first May bank holiday (four girls sharing a two-bed apt) for three nights.

The apartments are fitted out really nicely with lots of home comforts: extra pillows & blankets, dishwasher, fridge freezer, crockery, microwave, tv & dvd player, hairdryer, iron - everything you could need, really.

We got a very good deal - much better than if we'd booked hotel rooms, and the appeal of being able to cook for yourself in a town where drinks were €6 each (!!!) won us over.

The rooms were immaculately clean, as was the bathroom and kitchen. Our only complaint with the accommodation was the lack of hot water. One person a day was lucky enough to get a hot shower, and the rest had no choice but to duck in and out of the cold water. This was even after we'd "boosted" the heating control which seemed to make no difference at all. It would have been much nicer if all of us had been able to get a hot shower in the morning, but at the end of the day, it wasn't a dealbreaker.

The other point I'd make to anyone thinking about staying here is that the flats are really popular with stag and hen parties. Our bedrooms looked onto the courtyard, and we didn't get much sleep on any night with the various drunken groups staggering back at all hours. Again, not a dealbreaker since we did a wee bit of staggering ourselves, but I wouldn't recommend staying here if you are particular about getting a good night's sleep. The clientele and atmosphere reminded me of a backpacking hostel - but with much more luxury!

We bought supplies at the Lidl up on Parnell Street - it's not far to walk and saved us a heap of money. We never did figure out why we couldn't find bottles of Cava anywhere though......The apartments are about a 5 min walk away from the Guinness Storehouse too - location can't be faulted.

Reception staff were always polite and helpful, though we didn't get clean towels when we asked for them (you might need to pay extra for housekeeping services). They also run an airport bus service that picks you up right outside and is super convenient.

Overall, I'd definitely stay here again. If you're in Dublin to party, this seems to be the place to be.
