“Beautiful Woodlands by the river”
Review of Farran Wood

I loved coming here to walk when I just moved to Cork. I have been here few times since. Its a good place to come to unwind on your own or with a friend. You come out to the river and there is a rowing club there too..You can see rowers coming out depending of the time of your visit. Also there are plenty of deer around and a children's park..Good place for kids and picnic too.

There is ample parking, €5 entry to the car park. There is a big play area and then after this there are 2 options to explore. Option one is around the deer field and there are plenty of paths for kids to discover on the way. The other option is the main longer walk around the woods and this is great as there are picnic tables on the way, bat boxes, a little house with a seat, there is an option to sit near the lake and spend some time there. As this woods has a play area, deer, ducks, picnic tables and ample walking options it usually takes 3-4 hours to complete in total. Well worth a visit.
