Having stayed at the Sister Hotel in Dublin (Burlington Street) and having a very disappointing stay, was slightly trepidatious about turning up here. It was really lovely! I had phoned ahead to ask for a bigger room (as the one we had you literally could not swing a cat (two adults and our 14 year old son), this room was lovely and had air conditioning! WOOO! We had arrived in Ireland where there was an unprecedented heat wave! We quickly worked out where we were in Cork City and as the hotel was very central, we explored Cork. Breakfast was really good and all the staff were really friendly.
Was not prepared to have to wear a swimming hat in the pool ~ (had to buy one for 2 euros and share with my Son AND it was not even a proper swimming hat!)
Would stay here again!
The downside was that we were overlooking the homeless shelter ( a very worthy cause mind you) and there were a lot of dodgy looking people about. Not sure at night if I would want to wander about the area behind the hotel.More
