We stayed here for three nights on August bank holiday to attend a wedding in Cork, we booked it due to the reviews on this site and were certainly not disappointed. They gave a great welcome, ladened with lots of food, the breakfast was a large selection and the staff really helpful and polite. I would recommend that you pay extra for a larger room, as the standard was really very small and we slightly struggled for space! Would stay there again if I was visiting Cork.

This was my first visit and it was wonderful. When I arrived I was immediately offered tea and scones and cake, which was very welcome after the long journey. The house is just across the road from UCC and I visited the Lewis Glucksman Gallery, and a short stroll into the centre of Cork city.
The breakfast was gargantuan, everything you could possible want was on the menu. The prop. and staff were very friendly and I would definitely stay there again.

Everything at the Garnish House was wonderful! A perfect home away from home for weary travelers and busy day-trippers. Breakfast was very impressive -- buffet of scones and fruit, plus porridge to start, plus hot items from the menu, plus pancakes to finish off -- some of the most delicious meals I've ever had. Service was wonderful -- the owner was always at breakfast to check on everyone, and the rooms were kept very clean and well serviced. The fully stocked tea trays in each room made it all even better. A wonderful place! Definitely skip

Stayed recently. Room was comfortable, but certainly not very fancy. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The welcome was very warm and genuine, with scones, cakes and tea provided on arrival. The location is great as it's only a short stroll from the city centre. The real reason however for my stay was the breakfast, and it truly is a great breakfast. I had stewed prunes and apricots, then a cooked breakfast, then poached trout, then a little croissant, then pancakes with chocolate and bananas. You will not get a better breakfast. The service was very good and the staff (and management) were very pleasant. Recommended.

I stayed here on the 8th March 2012, I received a very friendly welcome, the staff were very helpful and courteous. I had a single room, it was very clean and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was delicious and good variety. It was very central to the city only 10 mins walk and across the road from the College.

The only problem, the walls are quite thin, I was woken at 2.30a.m. by a noisy couple next door, this continued until about 4.30a.m. Ya; you can hear everything.
