I didn't know that Cork had the biggest butter exchange in the world! How impressive the museum becomes after knowing this!
I like that they went through the hassle of translating a fully guide for the entire exhibit into 8 languages - thank you for that!
If you check with the museum beforehand you will be told which days you're in for a treat - which days they have the demonstration of butter making.
I enjoyed that visit immensely!

“A little bit of butter”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 December 2016

We popped by on a llittle walk to see what was around and the chap with the keys said they weren't open yet but he couldn't have us ladies out in the cold. We paid the £4 entrance fee and settled down to watch the video. Quite interesting and informative background into how the farming industry has developed over the last 60 odd years. A few little exhibits and it took us about 45 from start to finish. I would certainly recommend - and if you love a bit of butter and are of southern ireland origin then all the more interesting.

“Important part of Irish history”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 November 2016

Just two floors and about 6 rooms, it does not take very long to visit this museum - a bit longer if you watch the video and read all the information. The section on the 'bog butter' was particularly interesting and also the butter labels. Fee for entry. Parking is available close by but the streets are narrow so you need to be careful.

“Everyone NEEDS to go to the Butter Museum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 November 2016

When we were walking around the town, we stumbled across the Butter Museum. Had read a bit about it, but not much. Remembered it was pretty cheap price-wise, and since we're ballin' on a budget, decided to give it a shot. SO GLAD WE DID!!! This was the best museum I've ever been to!!! What made our visit so great? Getting there at 11:30, watching the short film, then watching butter be made at noon (only on certain days) and helping MAKE THE BUTTER! Woohoo!! Not just for kids, but adults too! We even got to take home the butte we made! Isn't that awesome?? The museum itself is super neat and interesting, too! Such a great trip, totally worth it. And the staff are so incredibly nice and informative, too! Definitely will go back if I'm ever in Cork!!!!

“Fascinating Museum”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 October 2016

Most certainly worth visiting. It is an extremely interesting and unusual museum. Initially shown a video presentation which lasted about 15/20 mins and focused on the history of Irelands diary industry from late 50's to mid 80's with the emphasis on the impact of the EU.
