Absolutely wonderful and charming walking tour with Bart.
Myself, my wife and mother in law had the most wonderful few hours with Bart hitting the streets of Cork learning all about its fascinating history from the Vikings through to the Revolution and Independence.
The blustery weather didn’t stop Bart (a highly intelligent, engaging and sincere tour guide) from imbuing the three of us with his intricate knowledge of the city and how it went from marshy islands to the lively Rebel county of the 20th century.
We learnt about architecture, town planning, wars and revolution and the local commerce. In fact, we learnt so much I needed a lie down afterwords!!! You can definitely tell Bart must have been a charismatic and erudite teacher in his past life.
To top it all off, he kindly finished our tour off with a beautiful tasting menu in the English market and a lovely Corkonian goodbye.
We’ll definitely try to arrange another tour with Bart next time we are in town visiting family.
You should most definitely book yourself in a tour with these guys!
Bart gave us so much interesting information about the history (and current day) of Cork! He also took several pictures of our family (and sent them to us immediately following our tour) in memorable locations. We had an excellent tasting experience in the English Market to conclude our tour, where Bart introduced us to several vendor/friends. Thanks, Bart, for a marvelous walking tour of Cork!!!
We were anticipating about an hour-long walk. Jack walked with us all over the city for two and a half hours and filled our heads with the wonderful history of the city, stories and anecdotes; made suggestions and recommendations for other things we might want do, see, eat, drink, etc. My husband and I have taken walking tours all over the world; this definitely ranks as one of the best and most interesting. Thanks, Jack!
Thank you so much for such a nice review. I enjoyed your company! Hope you enjoyed the Beara despite the rain today and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
Best wishes
Jack
We had a very fascinating private walking tour of Cork with Bart. Bart is a historian with a true love for his city. We thoroughly enjoyed this lovely and brilliant day, thank you again Bart for sharing your profound knowledge and love for Cork.
Had an amazing day with Bart. He was so engaging and very informative. Best tour we've had in years.
Definitely ask for the English Market tasting tour. Everything was delicious.
You will be glad you went!
It was a real pleasure for our group to have met Bart for a tour of Cork’s history, architecture and culture. What a charming, knowledgeable and witty character this man is, a real credit and ambassador to the city. I was particularly interested in Cork’s medieval history and it’s trading links and Bart was happy to furnish my questions with interesting facts, but also to add in true Irish dry humour along the way which made the whole tour a real pleasure, leaving us all with happy memories of our stay.
At the end of the tour, Bart was more than helpful in suggesting other places we could visit and to ensure we arrived at our next appointment on time. Thanks Bart once again for a fantastic tour, keep up the good work.
