In February my self and family gathered in Blarney Co. Cork for specail occasion
and had lovely time..Blarney is lovely place to visit with many things to do and see and some nice walking areas.hours can be sepent browsing the castle and gardens along with Blarney Wollen mills and all the beautiful products they produce and sell.
there is also traditional music in the local pubs and good pub food too.
Blarney Wollen Mill hotel is lovley place to stay, and rooms are clean and comfortable ( slight bit noisy if near front) they serve great food all day and the breakfast is great, staff helpful and friendly. we lookforward to returning later in the year.

Room tip: ask for quite room away from noise if you are light sleeper !

If you had a round of "stone-kissing" then head here for a bit of grub, a stroll around the wollen mill and a lovely pint. Food is very fresh - it's a busy spot, so if you want peace and quiet this mightn't be for you. Plenty of car parking, which is great.

It is in the centre of Blarney and has a large car park for the mill. There is a bar and a cafe as well as a large shop. The cafe gets very busy and has both indoor and outdoor seating. If you ask for a takeaway cup for drinks then you get a larger drink. Prices were reasonable and toilets were clean. The shop is large and does have a vast range of gifts, not just woollen items.

We were recently on a cruise that docked at Cobh and decided we would get a taxi from from Cork (train from Cobh to Cork) to the Blarney Wollen Mills. The Mills has a great selection of Irish made goods , you won't be disappointed. They will also do a VAT refund on the spot. it's worth a visit. There is a pub next door that does great coffee etc. You can sit outside if it's nice. Because there were plenty of people visiting we thought getting a taxi back would be easy..... wrong ... the ones we approached were booked. Asked the girl at the pub to call us a taxi ..... sorry, none available. Ended up getting the local bus back to Cork. Took us a bit longer than we planned. So if you get a taxi there, I would book the same taxi for your return trip. And, BTW, you can walk to the Blarney castle from the Mill.

Stopped here on a bus tour. I only wanted a water, so I stepped up to the counter, but had to wait for two people to order and pay for food. If this is a tourist stop, they either need to sell cold water downstairs, or have two lines upstairs. We have limited time on bus tours.
