Recommended length of visit: 2-3 hours
Owner description: Situated 8km from Cork City, this historic castle is most famous for its stone, which has the traditional power of conferring eloquence on all who kiss it. The word Blarney was introduced into the English language by Queen Elizabeth I and is described as pleasant talk, intended to deceive without offedning. The stone is set in the wall below the battlements, and to kiss it one has to lean backwards (grasping an iron railing) from the parapet walk. LAST ADMISSION IS 60 MINS BEFORE CLOSING TIME

Walked most of the grounds. Climbed the castle. Kissed the Blarney stone. Enjoyable for young and old

Plan to spend several hours exploring the historic castle and beautiful grounds. It was so much fun to make the journey to the top of the castle and kiss the Blarney stone! There are so many gardens and unique features to explore on the grounds - The Poisonous Garden, The Witch Stone, The Wishing Steps. There are so many great places to take pictures. We had a wonderful day at Blarney!

Blarney castle was amazing from start to finish. When we arrived , the staff could not have been nicer . They gave us a map on the grounds which showed us exactly where to go.

There was also a lovely cafe offering tea, coffee and lovely cakes

Went to Ireland for 8 days and Blarney Castle was my favorite day. The grounds were beautiful. Gorgeous gardens, amazing castle, beautiful landscaping, tasty treats, and even loved the gift shop. Everyone that goes to Ireland needs to see this place.

Now I know a lot of people like to kiss the Blarney Stone but just to walk around the grounds and see the grounds and wildlife is something to behold
Blarney is a great little village with great pubs and shops and the welcome there is second to none
A must see folks for young and not so young
